Demonland has made the difficult decision to not to permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Great win

A ray of sunshine on an otherwise dark weekend

Watching the girls the last two weekends has really helped my sanity.

They really play for each other. Great running and ball movement.

I even loved the commentary. No blokes yelling at me through the TV. Just a couple of women calling the game fairly completely without raising their voices too much.

Sat at the back of the couch with the feet up enjoying footy like we should.

Loving the way this team plays.

Here, or something positive for the 'Records' thread?

12 wins in a row. AFLW record.

And it's not stopping here.

And we haven't conceded a single last quarter goal in any of those twelve matches.......

And only 7 second half goals in those 12 matches (3 of which were 3rd quarter with the wind today).

I felt better watching the girls yesterday as well. It was a nice antidote.

It's a purer experience. It's all about the footy. No hype, corporate speak or bloviating pundits. I hope the ALFW manages to keep the lower key vibe. I want the crowds to grow but keep playing at suburban grounds.

Anyways, I'm really looking forward to the next few weeks watching this team try to go back-to-back. I know most Dees supporters have turned their minds to draft/trade or switched off for the year, but the footy season has a long way to go for me.

Go Dees.

1. Well said on the experience. But 'stuff' is creeping in. We could lose the PA'd goal scorer 'announcement'...

2. 'Most'? I hope it's more 'more', and trending further!

Honestly, how good are Kate Hore and Tyla Hanks? I love watching this whole team, but something about their pure footy ability just makes me smile.

Christ just watching the Eagles Blues game. What is it with Carlton claiming to have touched the ball. They don't even have ARC, they just took her word for it.

Well they are a club with a huge history of cheating, which mostly was accepted as part of business. And way too much influence at HQ.

My ramblings:

Had big fears for Banno, so glad that it's seemingly minor. Recommend this article for a bit of insight into the young gun. I love it when a player's personality off-field is so different from how they play. An introvert who plays so extroverted.  https://www.afl.com.au/aflw/news/1031694/poetry-perfection-and-those-celebrations-the-many-layers-of-alyssa-bannan

Got to see lots of Zanker up close from behind the goals. She's super competitive and expects a really high standard from herself. Felt she was just a bit off with her reading of the footy and a touch slow to react at times out of the square.

Loved that when Gay went forward to even up the numbers she managed to snag a couple of goals. Another versatile player that goes under the radar.

Forward-midfield cohesion is great, especially when picking off leading targets, running it in, or when it hits the deck. More contested marks and it’s the complete picture. The spread of goalkickers is promising for the inevitable games when the goals don't come so easy.

Backline is vulnerable to quick centre clearances and had some real lapses in concentration and intensity. Very hard to drop anyone from winning teams, but I think we've got to see how Colvin works in there.

The Dogs thought they were in that game in the third and then... they just weren't.

Shout out to the Demon Army! Noise level, chant variety and general vibes were top notch. You put every other AFLW cheer squad to shame!

But wait, there’s more… throw in the two practice matches and scoring for second halves in 14 consecutive matches is:

MFC 62.58.430
Opp 8.27.75

BACK TO BASE CAMP by Meggs

Congratulations to the Brisbane Lions.   Undefeated in all 6 matches against the top teams (North Melbourne, Adelaide, Geelong, and Melbourne). They are worthy winners of the 2023 AFLW premiership.   Our ambition for a Season 8 back-to-back premiership was derailed.   In round 6 Adelaide spilled the beans on the template to outplay us. From there news spread fast to other top teams who applied similar intense physical pressure at the source which crushed our gameplan to execute vi

TOO LITTLE TOO LATE by Meggs

It was a hot afternoon at IKON where the ferocious Cats came to play, had read the manual on how to beat us and the Demons were unable to match them for the first three quarters.     With physical pressure, they took the game on with relative ease and though our resistance seemed better than the previous two weeks it was still not good enough.     Within the opening minute, Kate Hore marks within range, but her shot was a miss-kick, like a fat iron, and it kinda set a flat tone f

    TURNAROUND by Meggs

Following successive comprehensive defeats by fellow Top Four heavyweights the Demons play down a division this Sunday against the highly promising Cats.     Strangely, no games against the Cats for five seasons and now we play them twice in one season.     With the blueprint on how to defeat the Dees available on the dark web the real question is, will we crumble again under the finals pressure cooker or will we rediscover our #DemonSpirit and execute a turnaround?   Mak

THE SECRET IS OUT by Meggs

We were expecting that after last week’s comprehensive defeat by Brisbane, our coach Mick Stinear would have his charges coming out breathing finals fire. Instead, it was North who had the aggression, the numbers, who blocked our scoring avenues and rendered us impotent, unable to match the Kangas during any phase of the match.   Darren Crocker, the North coach, later highlighted that how to beat Melbourne is no secret following recent losses to Adelaide and Brisbane and now North.
