Whatever happens can we just START FAST AND HUNGRY?Ā

Show us 0-3 in the last 3 finals burns.Ā

Like, actually burns. Enough to come out breathing fire from the FIRST SECOND until the LAST SECOND, and bury these cheating [censored].Ā

We can’t go down 0-4 and 2 straight sets against the blues. We just can’t.

I have to quote this post because it’s not possibly to ā€œlikeā€ it 1000 timesĀ

We'll be outnumbered again this time by the other feral fans

We got 70,000 members. Just need 50,000 to rock up (Yep I know there are AFL sections, corporates etc, but come on surely we have enough supporters that hate Carlton!!!). Turn up!

McKay appears concussed so Ā (depending on Jesse Hogan’s mate, the Carlton doctors assessment) should miss next week. Ā
Which may change out defensive set upĀ

McKay is definitely out with concussionĀ

Swans 9.14 after their 7.14 against us, vs 11.8 and 11.11, too: now that's terminal bad kicking. We at least have the chance to make amends...Ā

I seriously doubt that.

Here's food for thought.

How long as a collective here have we bemoaned our forward structure ?

Weeks ? Months ?? SEASONS ???

Have we EVERĀ  seen a properly functioningĀ  fwd line week after week ??Ā

What we see is a direct result of instruction....it can be nothing else.Ā

Two things arise from this ... the Forward structure setup is cactus.... not by accident...but by selection and coaching. It can be nothing else otherwise it would be different.Ā

If the intent is actually different...then the coaches are uselessĀ  ??Ā

Any which way... its only about 10-20% players.....rest is by design.

Its that bleeding obviousĀ

That's just not true. Our forward line has functioned well at times this year and when it has it has come with quick entries.

I think potentially our players were super-conscious of not letting Collingwood rebound from defensive 50 causing them to kick to contests which make them more likely to end in stoppages rather than pinging out through hands.

However that would not have been the intent of the forward line coach. It would be the players failing to execute on the instructions they were given, which would of course have been to take the opportunity to hit a target inside 50 when it presents.

I think you'll find supporter morale at a post-flag year low. I'd be surprised to see dees fans turn out in much force unfortunately especially after putting up with Pies fans last week. A lot just won't want to go through that again.

Seems a shame that players disobeyed instruction by kicking to a leading melksham to win the Brissy game then hey?

Plenty of times I saw Gawn and other forwards motioning to get the ball in quicker but the player with the ball was indecisive and the moment was lost. That's not coaching that's on the players not executing the plan.

Yes we have a plan to minimise damage by kicking to pockets and bombing at times but not all the time. The players lacked nuance in their play and that's on them not the coaching.

Pop quiz...how many times...Ā  a spot up kick to Milky...or anyoneĀ  Ā 30/40 directly in front.

That btw is what you're taught from kinder...

Take all the time you likeĀ

Since you're asking the question let me throw it back to you to answer. I reckon you'll find it happens more often than you think…just not last night which is my point. Players failed to execute to the coaches instructions.

Don't hand out homework. Give me the answers to the quiz since I didn't sign up for one.

I hear you but if that actually occurs (we don’t turn up) I will feel so much shame. I hope you are wrong.

As an aside I was really proud how our crowd supported and stuck up for our players and gave the Ferals heaps (booing Maynard and Cox - yep I was one of many booing. - plenty of pride and no shame whatsoever)

Voss has 100% ruled McKay out with concussion.

No need for the Carlton conspiracy theories.

How refreshing was it to hear him say that, particularly after the Port saga a few weeks earlier.

Was it concussion? Didnt seem to get hit in the head on the replay. I wondered if he was badly winded, heavy body contact. Not sure

Edit. just saw Voss confirmed concussionĀ

Mrs Right Foot and I are flying down from Brisbane for the game. All booked, just hope we can get tickets otherwise it's just a shopping trip.

Not last night or most others.

Agree. Spargo can actually draw a [censored] in the fwd 50 too, which we couldn't buy last night.Ā

Does anyone have the stats on teams winning the flag after losing the QF?

i remember the Hawks doing itĀ

i seriously think we could do it. we are fit enough

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
