Was this a portent of what was to befall the Swans tonight?

Usually they say on AFL site subbed out with injury if concussed.

Doesn't say anything. But he was clearly unbalanced and his feet were buckling as he went off.

Would have to be concussed you would think, but it's Carlton.

They are following Ports handbook on Concussion Management.

Swans didnt kick straight enough  to win just like us

A Collingwood Carlton final next week would have been great. At least then one of them would have had to go. Unfortunately we stuffed up. Guess we'll just have to put them out.

Giants should comfortably beat the Saints

Saints are one of the worst finals teams i’ve seen

Tim Membray out for St Kilda today with an undisclosed illness. Sounds a bit more serious than a morning sniffle.

Saints can’t take a trick with their injuries either. Massive out.

is ‘personal health reasons’ code for a hangover?!

in all seriousness it sounds a lot worse than your average injury

If the Saints wanted to respect his privacy, all they need have said is 'he is not well and can't play'.  Instead they said:

"Membrey is currently receiving appropriate care and treatment due to a personal health matter," St Kilda said in a statement.

"Tim's health and wellbeing is our primary concern and the club asks that Tim and the Membrey family's privacy is respected at this time."

I don't think the fact that apparently the AFL had to give special permission changes that.   If the AFL has a policy on when they are prepared to do that, it should be published and framed in a way that is so broad that it gives no extra fuel to speculation yet prevents club's from breaking the normal rules about selection.

Jason Bennett is an interesting caller, because he calls the game. It’s just a shame he gets partnered with Darcy.

Actually  supporting Gws makes sense.

They are a far better chance of beating Lions or Port than St Kilda.

Nice to see the former Melbourne forward line kicking goals 😆

Beddy

pace pace pace Bedford

Goal Bedford

thanks Goody for ignoring Toby so much that he left the club

clearly has pace and goal sense … but goody preferred Spargo ahead of Bedford (ffs)

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
