Re: Pies record in the wet.

I remember their game against Richmond in round 3 being a wet low-scoring slug fest. It was close for most of the game mainly due to Pies inaccuracy.

Obviously not as helpful to look at as it was early in the season when they were running out games better.

Tmac worries me if it’s wet, turning circle of an ocean liner

The wet makes everyone slower. He has always lacked agility but made up for it in endurance. If he can continue to lead and bring ball to ground, that’ll do me.
He just needs not to get out marked or out bodied in the contest.

Perhaps, but my other intuition is that they were short DeGoey and several others( yeah Daicos I know) and two theoretically equal sides tend to trade victories.

I know Pies fans who are nervous about this game .

Hopefully it is good entertainment

yeah, yeah ... and whoever loses, the fans will blame the weather (and the umpiring). the meja will just go with whatever is the most controversial and click bait worthy. i'm looking forward to a filth meltdown.

0% chance they drop Bowey. One of the few elite ball users in our side.

he’s been dropped before. and aside from last week has been in average form

but like i said would be harsh. i just want Hibberd in for this huge game and there’s no way i’m dropping Salem or McVee

Three changes is too destabilising for mine. I thought Turner was actually pretty good and I don’t really see any Collingwood forward getting a hold of him. If Cox wasn’t playing you could take out Turner and put Hibberd in which could give coverage on Elliott.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Goody had Hibbo as sub as a back up on Elliott

In: Hibberd (Sub), Tmac

Out: Laurie (Sub), Melksham

i hear ya. selection will be very interesting

imagine this being Turners 4th game?

huge for the kid

He was making a comment about Kysiah. Who I reckon will have a great finals series, because of the growth in his understanding of his role, emotional maturity and is experienced.

I thought his last half dozen games were good and he has some consistency happening.

It all started after the coaches decided to give him some time at centre bounces.

Got his hands on it early in the quarters, brought his tenacious pressure, and has been adding some goals and X-factor.

@Jaded No More

Commentator looking at his early season form, and not really seeing his growth.

IMV, it was always the plan to give him CBAs again later in the season.

I've written about this multiple times now, but for the first 9 rounds, he had high CBAs for his standards, and when people were calling for him to go back in there during clearly a heavy loading phase, I was saying he'd go back in there once he started to taper.

Sure enough, the last 5-6 weeks of the H&A season, he has gone back to having strategic CBAs.

Small forwards don't tend to dominate finals series' but that's why it's great to have an outlet to get him involved if needed.

There's been a bit of talk on Demonland about playing Kozzy deep out of the square in this QF. Will be fascinating if we try that. Pretty hard if you're winning territory and it's always in there though. 😉

Ocean Liners are great in the wet u less they’re the Titanic

I plan on being so loud on Thursday. I'm normally pretty reserved but we have to be LOUD.

My wild guess for selection that will 100% be wrong

In: Tmac, Laurie

Out: Smith, Melksham

Sub: Smith or Hibbo

I feel like with Tmac coming in we don’t need Smith. What we do need is some classy ball use going inside 50. Laurie has shown that. Especially if it does rain, and that’s looking less and less likely, to have a good ball user around the forwardline will be paramount.

Smith or Hibbo as sub. Hibbo if we are worried about McVee on Elliot. Smith as sub if we are worried about Turner or Tmac. Ultimately Smith is the most versatile sub and the best break glass in case of emergency player we have.

I like the bye week but bloody hell, having to wait for this game is really ramping up the butterflies in the stomach.

Tomorrow and Thursday are going to be loooooonnnnnnngggg days.

I always lose my voice after the game.
I will be mute by quarter time. Guaranteed.

I’m going to be at full volume from word go. I’m excitable at the best of times. This game has me at fever pitch.

Reported in The Age that McRae said he will likely play both Cox and Cameron in the QF even if it rains. If only one is  sellected in the 22 then Cox will be sub.

Deadset ridiculous call.

I'm not a KISS fan, and agree it is crazy not to book Aaussie bands, but there is one big difference to meatloaf.

Meatloaf was very much a has been and decades past being a top seller.

I heard Gerard Whately say something similar ie kids won't know who KISS are. But in fact he was just showing out of touch he is.

KISS remain huge and continue to find new, young audiences all over the world. They are huge with kids now.

People don't but CDs much anymore, but KISS are making a fortune from streaming.

On spotify they get over 13 million monthly listeners and their most streamed song is I was made for loving you with over 800 million streams.

Those numbers aren't all old foggies reliving their misspent youth. Millions of kids love them.

For the same reason they continue to rake in serious coin with touring . Their last major tour was i think 2019. KISS were the only hard rock act in the top 10 grossing tours in the US that year, coming in at number 7, grossing more that $80 mill US

2019 Top 10 North American Tours

1. The Rolling Stones ($177.8M gross; 784,652 tickets sold)
2. Elton John ($157.4M gross; 1,155,510 tickets sold)
3. Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band ($97.0M gross;, 867,925 tickets sold)
4. Pink ($87.9M gross; 624,419 tickets sold)
5. Ariana Grande ($82.6M gross; 700,053 tickets sold)
6. Jonas Brothers ($81.7M gross; 769,310 tickets sold)
7. KISS ($81.6 M gross; 800,302 tickets sold)
8. Fleetwood Mac ($77.5M gross; 544,286 tickets sold)
9. Garth Brooks ($76.1M gross; 856,000 tickets sold)
10. Justin Timberlake ($75.6M gross; 568,449 tickets sold)

On top of all of that they continue to make millions annually from merchandise (having more than a billion dollars in merch sales over their career).

They aint no meatloaf.

Top post my good man but point of order - hard rock they ain’t!

Honestly, I want to put Smith as SUB

He just gives us a heap of flexibility and his pinch hitting fitness and swift movement is a weapon (and I feel he tires as a full time FWD)

Fritta and Tmac in gives us one more spot to fill

Rivers with a bit of mid time, and Hibbo down back against the fleet footed C'wood attack may be the answer...?

Just saw Ash Johnson ruled out. Was unlikely to have played anyway but still remember the bag he kicked on us last year.

Listening to hoyne on Sportsday he said we need to shut Elliot out so that match up is huge also said rivers last 6 weeks have been huge he is currently a top 30 rated player in the league and that’s who pies need to shut down at half back, luckily rivers goes through the midfield aswell so would be hard to put a clamp on him

Pleasantly relieved by this. It’s those sort of players that bob up against us.

Have a feeling it’ll be like the 2018 Elimination Final when I’d lost my voice by quarter time 😆

Elliot is keeping me awake

What if it’s close, down to the wire, a cliffhanger, too close to call….what then??? I’ll be a wreck

How has Hibberd not started a game since Round 15? That doesn’t sound right at all?

When we emigrated here I was enrolled at our nearest high school, Cleeland High in Dandenong. Virtually every kid followed Collingwood and had a duffle coat with either Daicos, Moore or Kink on the back. They also all loved an American glam rock band called Kiss. I'd heard of neither and took an instant dislike to both.
