Just watching the replay of the Kings Birthday game. Worth watching.

Collingwood had won 23 of their last 25 H&A games

They were on fire and we smashed em. Just couldn't kick straight

We kicked 6g 10b from set shots including 4 posters and 3 that didn't make the distance

We had more scoring shots than them every qtr.

Coll kicked the first 3 g after horrendous First qtr turnovers from us. Only 6 for the rest of the game

They kicked two in the last min to close it down to 4pts but this was a mauling by us.

Gawn was blocked off the ball at every single contest. Not one free. They got two from the same

Viney was immense. Thommo played v well

Surely no one thinks they will be easy to beat.

I certainly don't.

But i think we will beat them.

By the by, the Pies are currently 1.84 favorites and we are 2.00, with the line at 1.5

That is as good as even money, but i suspect we will in fact start close favorites.

A genuine 50 50 game.

That we will win.

Odds not dissimilar to those in favour of the Sydney Swans in our game last weekend.

I just had a dream that Clayton Oliver kicked from the pocket to Ben Brown (?) standing right on the goal line who slotted it in to put us 35 points up halfway through the third quarter. MAKE OF THAT WHAT YOU WILL.

I also had a dream but for some reason it did not involve any footballers

What type of house do you have?

The type the bank owns.

Tmac only change for Melky or if defender needed then Hibbo if passes  fitness test.

I can see Smith playing a defensive roll on Moore he is perfect for it.

Smithy's role as a defensive forward (and as a taller, mobile, attacking forward) has really magnified; I see TMac coming in for a dual role other than his own - freeing Smith for leads against the Filth defenders (and those of Fritta if he plays) and firming the pack against Filth hindrances for JVR. Going to be a rip-snorter of a game, me thinks. Smalls are going to have to be non-static for the whole game, exploiting the opportunities.

One of many fascinating sub plots to come in this game.

I seriously cannot remember a more evenly poised QF.

Should be a cracker and hopefully reignites the rivalry that has become more driven by our side than theirs. We win and go on to win the flag and the rivalry is legit again.

First time we've both been legit contenders and have met in a final in for 59 years.

We met in 1989 it has been mentioned but it certainly was in a semi in 1988 at the G which we won.

I'm not taking any significance at all from the KB game. At 11-1 at the time, Collingwood would have been in a very demanding training phase, potentially even training harder than us who were 3 wins behind them (8-4).  This is now the real deal and it's got every chance of being an epic final.

I was in Sydney for the R24 match.

While I was there, I was attacked by a freakin magpie. Not sure if it was some sort of omen. In any event, I survived the attack.

I'm trying to imagine the reverse omen, that is, what might have happened to a Collingwood supporter. Meeting a Demon at the gates of Hell, perhaps?

Yep,  dont forget the most annoying DL comment...."sure,we won today but if we play like that next week we'll get belted"  -  or thrashed or lose by 10 goals. just fill in the blanks.

note.  one poster used this comment in reference to an upcoming game against the bulldogs.   unbelievable.

Go to Srilanka and shake a large tree. Hundreds of huge black crows will come zooming out at you. Crows would shred a magpie.

Most likely but it wouldn't me if there was a surprise or 2.

Is it time to get the countdown clock back again @Demonland>?

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • POSTGAME: Geelong

The Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, falling to 0–4 after a more spirited showing against the Cats at Kardinia Park. Despite the improved effort, they went down by 39 points, and the road ahead is looking increasingly grim.
