These two sides look like they would rather be napping than playing finals

In fairness I’ve watched 5 minutes of this game 😂

If not already noted, it just occurred to me that it was also the West Coast vs Adelaide game that cost us a finals spot by the slimmest of margins in 2017.

Hopefully that is not an omen for tonight.

I didn't want to post on that well done.

Crows tanked last round of 2017 and cost us finals. Karma last week was lovely.

(Yes I know we should've beaten pies that round but that's not the point)

Dent the Lions confidence, make them question themselves prior to finals. They’ve everything to play for and it would say a lot if they can’t get it done.

Sure. But if they lose, port wins and we win we play port at Adelaide oval week one of finals.

So, I’d prefer to beat the Pies at the G over PA

imagine taking mcgrath over mcluggage

classique dodo

I don’t rate mcluggage, goes missing when the heat turns up

Wobbly Pies at the G our best option.

Huh?

So as it stands right now with, say, 12 minutes to go:

  • Brisvagas wins
  • Port hot faves to beat Ninethmond
  • We play Filth at HQ first week finals whether win or loose tomorrow.

All have equal footing for me… I would love nothing more than beating Collingwood at the G and I would love nothing more than beating the lions at the Gabba and I would love nothing more than beating port at Adelaide

hmmm…and I’m not even confused by that post 😂

i think yr saying you'd love to win...

you'd think they will hold on from here, maybe saints fit they didn't rest King.

... especially with shots like that on goal.

Port play well in Brisbane, I would not discount them from knocking off Brizvegas.

if we're playing the bears up there, i'll take the twilight slot

doesn't look nearly as slippery and suited to their style of play than a night game often does

Total myth that the Gabba is slippery, it's dry from early/mid July onwards. Playing in Brisbane is like playing in Melbourne, just with possibly higher temperatures. Totally different story at the start of the season.

I think you can work it out

I'm confused. Did you not read my post?

We won't play the pies week one if the saints win this game.

If the saints and the dees win:

We will play Port IN Adelaide if they beat tigers (which they will).

Or if port lose we will play the lions at the g.

I've only been back less than 48 hours so I may be missing something as to why Coll is seen to be an easier QF than Port or Lions.

I noticed they lost a few games recently but they will have Moore, Murphy and McCleery back.  They rested Elliot for half the game last night, Sidebottom played in 2nd gear and everyone will have two days extra rest than us.

If we play Coll and lose we are facing a game each week to the GF and an away PF.    I'd rather an away QF than an away PF.

Now that the Lions have won, I'm hoping for a Port loss tomorrow.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
