Get stuffed mate. You're a Muppet.

Oh, and by the way, one for WCW:

What is the protocol for holding up the target symbol behind the goals because when JVR lined up in the first term I was right behind him and the target was positioned right in the middle OF THE POINTS. that is, the EXACT MID-WAY BETWEEN GOAL AND POINT POST?

Now it may be that the players ignore that stuff but JVR's kick went perfectly straight...and midway between goal and point post so can we have a NEW RULE that the target is handed to someone in line with the midpoint of the goals the the kicker?

Or maybe just do away with it.

And i cant see Tmac being fit enough to play again this season. Looked miles of AFL level fit.

How is this definitive though? There a few still shots? Needs to be in motion and how can anyone say from the review it clearly misses? if it did it would have been overturned?

Not saying no THBT but there's people saying the tech isn't good enough and then people saying it clearly wasn't touched and if that were the case it would have been sufficient evidence to overturn, if they still didn't do it then there is corruption happening.

I was the same, Carlton fans around me were enjoying the game.

It was my walk home when they rubbed in their win.

Why does a group take it out on a lone walker?

There was abuse towards our Demon Army after the siren.

Pies were exactly the same last year in that round 20 game. I can’t wait to see Carlton falter in the finals. There’s no way the premiership is being won by a team that lost something like 9 in a row earlier in the year. It just doesn’t happen.

Yep, I was pretty disappointed with both performances.

That’s our Kathy May. She’s as passionate as they come. And so one-eyed it’s not funny. She takes a Rope at banner-raising each week and spends more time on her arze than on her feet, but heaven help the poor fool who tries to take the rope from Kath. 😁

It may have brushed his right hand, not left hand, and the vision is inconclusive and so it’s not a clear mistake.

Unfortunately she's been the butt of some pretty horrible and personal attacks on Twitter.

When I saw this I was absolutely loving the passion by her. I hope she is like this every week because I love seeing [censored] like this from our supporters.

Sorry but Schache is not the answer and absolutely not the answer after watching today.

Superb stuff.

Haven't noticed her in the mix before and i'm a regular DA member behind the goals pretty much every home game.

She was front and square in this one and giving it eveything.

Fair enough. When I watch the video of the goal line angle he clearly doesn’t touch the ball. I feel like the ARC didn’t take the necessary time. They are now sacrificing decision making for time efficiency, because everyone was getting annoyed with the process mid season.

There’s no evidence that the ball was ever touched. It was a mistake, which I can live with. What I can’t live with is that the system is designed to mitigate errors, and in this case I think all it did was highlight its own inabilities.

I also think the argument that it was clearly not touched, and that the technology isn’t good enough aren’t mutually exclusive. The tech isn’t designed for our game, and it isn’t uniformly incorporated at all games. We should expect a better system. The AFL expects players to make split second decisions correctly or miss games, yet it can’t design a decision making system for goals that does the same thing with the luxury of a lot more time.

Thom Browne said this morning on Seven that the AFL is working on ball trajectory tech. Hope that’s the answer.

Just wanna unashamedly and publicly let everyone know what an incredible cheer squad our Club has. Credit where it’s due and all.

Last night’s loss topped off a particularly brutal time for the DA. Personally, I laid my youngest sister to rest on Friday, she took her own life three weeks ago. Yesterday on their way to the ‘G, two of our members, young brothers, were involved in a horrific car accident where a motorcyclist was trapped under their car. They had to administer CPR until ambos arrived and at this point it’s not looking likely the rider will pull through. Then last night just before 3/4 time, after wondering why one of our regulars hadn’t shown up, we received the devastating news that he’d passed away, likely cause being suicide.

We were facing an uphill battle to make more noise than Carlton fans as it was, their numbers are legion. But I’m so proud of our efforts last night. It’s a huge feat to chant and cheer while your heart is breaking.

PS: Kate came and sat with us for the last quarter. We have the best president as well as the best cheer squad. ❤️💙

What a terrible week you have had WCW. I am so sorry for your loss and that of the fellow Demon Army member. I am in awe of your dedication and that of the DA. I hope this week is better for you.

I had same problem so I reversed the conversation and asked them the difference between trac and cripps.

They took the bait and asked "what"

A Norm Smith medal I replied.

Silence ensued.

besides working on ball trajectory can they also fund glasses for these obviously vision impaired umpires

The other frame tells you the whole story, he missed the ball completely the lying sack of [censored] and said he touched it with his fingertips.

Been thinking about our game.

I reckon the most damaging problem we have, is that our disposals often put the intended player under pressure, or the ball not to their advantage. Love the way they all want the ball, but sometimes, they shouldn't call for it or give it.

We need more angle in our runs, a bit more shimmy and step when we get it,  more precision in the delivery. If we get better at breaking lines and finding a variety of corridors to go through (a bomb doesn't always have to be down the line), we would be a much better attacking side. When the pressure is applied we hack it up.

Our capacity to create stoppages is great, but we need more flair, and to make better use of the spaces and freedom, which helps in more precise execution.

You mean the other angle below. It’s inconclusive.  And to be fair, if you touch a ball it’s instinctive to immediately put the hand that touched it up and tap it with the other hand.  Marchbank instinctively put his right hand up and tapped it.  I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

The goal umpire error most likely costs is a chance to play in a grand final. Going to Port or Brisbane is giving away a 5 goal advantage - because the umpiring at these places is criminal. It’s why Adelaide are hopeless away from home. The umpiring at these venues is ridiculous. So that error last night, will cost us a home final, and from there it’s an uphill battle.

Couldn’t agree more Kev that is why I am hoping that we pick up a hard fast silky mid and a tough tallish utility that can kick and mark in this years draft. We have the class and brute force but it is spread to thin at present, we need a bit more quality around the ground.!!

Did you see the goal line review for the Hawks v Bulldogs game? last quarter Tim English touches the ball on the line and they got vision from both post cameras and they even zoomed in.

Where was this comprehensive review last night? They [censored] choked in that Arc box last night like a rabbit in the spotlights.

The camera on the other post closest to Marchbank would have 100 percent defined whether he touched it or not they were in such a [censored] hurry to get the game going instead of taking an extra 20 seconds and get it right.

I don't often again with Dwayne Russell but i reckon they should microchip the ball and that will determine whether the ball had been touched before the line.

How much would that cost to put a micro chip in the ball and magnetic sensors in the posts?

Not much i would have thought, but the tight ring holes at AFLHQ won't pull their finger out of their a holes to be up to standard with other sports around the world.

Every goal line and offside decision in the Womens World Cup have been correct 💯 percent, NBA have buzzer beater technology to determine whether the ball has been released before the game clock expires.

Tennis has Hawkeye for line calls, Elite Soccer has VAR for offside( Yes their were initially teething problems with this until they determined what part of body was considered offside but 100 percent now) and Hawkeye for goal line technology 100 pecent correct.

NFL you Hawk eye aswell with 100's of camera angles to determine 1st downs etc.

But the AFL is stuck with 3rd world technology 2 go pros on each post and a camera angle on the side, it's a complete and utter chip show from top to bottom with the AFL.

AFL big shots go around saying they are an Elite level comp but i beg to differ they can't even get goal line decisions to 💯 percent levels when its going to count most Grand Final day.

Embarrassing AFL Embarrassing.

  • PREVIEW: Sydney

The two teams competing at the MCG on Sunday afternoon have each traversed a long and arduous path since their previous encounter on a sweltering March evening in Sydney a season and a half ago. Both experienced periods of success at various times last year. The Demons ran out of steam in midseason while the Swans went on to narrowly miss the ultimate prize in the sport. Now, they find themselves outside of finals contention as the season approaches the halfway mark. The winner this week will remain in contact with the leading pack, while the loser may well find itself on a precipice, staring into the abyss. The current season has presented numerous challenges for most clubs, particularly those positioned in the middle tier. The Essendon experience in suffering a significant 91-point loss to the Bulldogs, just one week after defeating the Swans, may not be typical, but it illustrates the unpredictability of outcomes under the league’s present set up.

  • REPORT: Brisbane

“Max Gawn has been the heart and soul of the Dees for years now, but this recent recovery from a terrible start has been driven by him. He was everywhere again, and with the game in the balance, he took several key marks to keep the ball in the Dees forward half.” - The Monday Knee Jerk Reaction: Round Ten Of course, it wasn’t the efforts of one man that caused this monumental upset, but rather the work of the coach and his assistants and the other 22 players who took the ground, notably the likes of Jake Melksham, Christian Petracca, Clayton Oliver and Kozzie Pickett but Max has been magnificent in taking ownership of his team and its welfare under the fire of a calamitous 0-5 start to the season. On Sunday, he provided the leadership that was needed to face up to the reigning premier and top of the ladder Brisbane Lions on their home turf and to prevail after a slow start, during which the hosts led by as much as 24 points in the second quarter. Titus O’Reily is normally comedic in his descriptions of the football but this time, he was being deadly serious. The Demons have come from a long way back and, although they still sit in the bottom third of the AFL pack, there’s a light at the end of the tunnel as they look to drive home the momentum inspired in the past four or five weeks by Max the Magnificent who was under such great pressure in those dark, early days of the season.

  • CASEY: Southport

The Southport Sharks came to Casey. They saw and they conquered a team with 16 AFL-listed players who, for the most part, wasted their time on the ground and failed to earn their keep. For the first half, the Sharks were kept in the game by the Demons’ poor use of the football, it’s disposal getting worse the closer the team got to its own goal and moreover, it got worse as the game progressed. Make no mistake, Casey was far and away the better team in the first half, it was winning the ruck duels through Tom Campbell’s solid performance but it was the scoreboard that told the story.
