Game over we are mentally weak, absolutely pathetic effort disgusting doesn’t even cut it not a chance in hell we win the flag if they can’t get there [censored] together for this, why Tomlinson gets dropped was a great decision well done goody

They could easily be 8 goals up and this game would be done.

What the f..k is going on with us?

We know Joel Smith is a better forward than a defender.

We know May and Lever need a third defender to help them be effectual.

Petty and Tomlinson are our best third defenders.

Petty has somewhat cemented a role in the forward line.

Timlinson now can’t get a game and Smith is playing in defence.

Totally baffling.

Baffling, isn’t it. You get what you deserve I guess.

Van Rooyen can't mark today

A lot of players can't do a lot of things today for us.

We are in second gear and it shows. Chandler's effort on the far wing a few minutes ago summed it up. Just assumed the North player wouldn't cover the spare or get there in time.

Thank Christ for Jack Viney.

I hope he tears the rest of the team a new one at half time. They all deserve it

That goal won't matter. They look like scoring every time they go forward.

Roo has been awful today. I think Grundy comes in for him next week.

If North get a priority pick, what do we get?

Tried to warn you, it's all between the ears and Clarkson has played it perfectly. Still think we will win.

Goldstein always kills us. Sheer arrogance not to bring Grundy in this week.

Is Rivers playing? He has been unsighted 😬

Can Petty miss? Wow. Would be an absolute gift to go in less than 4 goals down after this half.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
