Sounds like a great idea all round.  I'm sure it must be a [censored] call for a club doctor to have to make anyway.

Great round of footy, perhaps the best so far for the year?

It is part of their job.
Allir Allir assessment should have been open and shut.
Same the bloke with "the migraine." 😒

The current ladder is a great example of how uneven the fixture is, and how it makes teams look much better than they are.

The Saints are 5th and I reckon every team down to 15th would pick them to play if they had to pick a side above.

I think the Saints are the worst 5th placed team after Rd 20 there has ever been.

What the Grate Dayne has to realize is that a majority of opposition supporters would love to play that tune!

Alliir was unconscious and lying motionless for some seconds.  That is criteria #1 and #10 respectively on page six of AFL/AFLW guidelines.  #1 prohibits return to play.  #10 requires first an assessment before return but is trumped by #1.

Jones had #5  Dazed, blank/vacant stare   and   #9. Player reports significant, new or progressive concussion symptoms, i.e. migraine.  These both require immediate removal and no return to play.

And out for two weeks.

This excessive detail is to indicate that is quite cut and dried rather than to annoy you.

That would mean the AFL to pay for independent doctors at all games costing a nice $$$$$ yet still cannot pay for professional umpires. Knee jerk reaction by the AFL if they do as most club doctors would be diligent to the protocols around possible concussion. It would however delete bias decisions by clubs by putting players in the firing line for future illness's and suing the AFL.

Hey Wadda. I think our record at AO is something like 10-5 with a steady five-goal average-winning-margin, including a 2011 last-round seven-point tank and neutral loss to Essendon this year (with another crucial neutral win over Brisbane in 2021). Under Goody's tenure, starting with the 2017 upset over the Crows, I think we're even better. Have faith my friend - woo-hoo!

Hey Sku,

Ok i hear ya, i didnt realize it was that good. I know we had a purple patch at Adelaide for a while there. Still i personally dont like the idea of playing Port and their feral crowd if we can possibly avoid it. But we have to tackle all senarios if we are truly the Champs, which i believe we are. Bring em on.

I’m a terrible person and I’ll probably go straight to hell for saying this but Zorko copping a bruising squeeze of the nuts makes me so happy. I’m highly amused by it. I laugh every time I hear about it. If I had to pick one player to suffer this fate it’d be hands down him. I’ve even contemplated sending Touk a thank you card but that might be taking things a little too far. I’m happy enough basking in the joy of it, silently (except for the sound of thunderous peals of laughter) and many times. 🥳

No where near far enough I would have thought @WalkingCivilWar. At a minimum, in no particular order, I would suggest:

  • A knighthood
  • A license to operate all McDonald's in Queensland
  • An oligarch's yacht
  • An exemption to paying GST on alcohol and ?*& for the rest of his life
  • A lifetime job on Channel 7 talking [censored] on Friday nights.

And of course the grub Zorko had the hide to snidely whinge about it. He is a filthy piece of human who deserves everything he gets. Dish it out but.....

Titus O’Reilly’s take on the incident. You don’t have to read too hard between the lines to realise he may agree with you WCW.

“I’ve got a lot of sympathy for Zorko; there’s no cleaner player in the AFL”

Trust that tiny nutted [censored] of a human to be a snitch and a cry baby. Don’t see players going to the AFL crying that you eye gouged them you absolute clown.
If there is a less respected player in the AFL, I would be shocked. A real piece of trash!

If what Zorko is accusing Touk of is exactly what happened then Touk had breached a rule and should miss games.

However we're talking about someone with form here and apparently proud of it. Forget the code, forget letting bygones be bygones, forget it could have been accidental (it was a tackle after all) let's go whinge to the first media outlet that will have us as we're known to do.

The way he said there was bruising still there sounded like bull but that's just me. I would sincerely hope not.

Dane Zorko is the kid that pours salt into your coca cola at a restaurant when you're not looking and thinks it's funny, can be hard to believe people like that when serious.

Sick of seeing him on the news in Brisbane. Epitome of a grub for mine and I can't stand him.

  • NON-MFC: Round 05

Gather Round is here, kicking off with a Thursday night blockbuster as Adelaide faces Geelong. The Crows will be out for redemption after a controversial loss last week. Saturday starts with the Magpies taking on the Swans. Collingwood will be eager to cement their spot in the top eight, while Sydney is hot on their heels. In the Barossa Valley, two rising sides go head-to-head in a fascinating battle to prove they're the real deal. Later, Carlton and West Coast face off at Adelaide Oval, both desperate to notch their first win of the season. The action then shifts to Norwood, where the undefeated Lions will aim to keep their streak alive against the Bulldogs. Sunday’s games begin in the Barossa with Richmond up against Fremantle. In Norwood, the Saints will be looking to take a scalp when they come up against the Giants. The round concludes with a fiery rematch of last year's semi-final, as the Hawks seek revenge for their narrow loss to Port Adelaide. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?

  • CASEY: Geelong

There was a time in the second quarter of the game at the Cattery on Friday afternoon when the Casey Demons threatened to take the game apart against the Cats. The Demons had been well on top early but were struggling to convert their ascendancy over the ground until Tom Fullarton’s burst of three goals in the space of eight minutes on the way to a five goal haul and his best game for the club since arriving from Brisbane at the end of 2023. He was leading, marking and otherwise giving his opponents a merry dance as Casey grabbed a three goal lead in the blink of an eye. Fullarton has now kicked ten goals in Casey’s three matches and, with Melbourne’s forward conversion woes, he is definitely in with a chance to get his first game with the club in next week’s Gather Round in Adelaide. Despite the tall forward’s efforts - he finished with 19 disposals and eight marks and had four hit outs as back up to Will Verrall in the second half - it wasn’t enough as Geelong reigned in the lead through persistent attacks and eventually clawed their way to the lead early in the last and held it till they achieved the end aim of victory.

  • REPORT: Geelong

I was disappointed to hear Goody say at his post match presser after the team’s 39 point defeat against Geelong that "we're getting high quality entry, just poor execution" because Melbourne’s problems extend far beyond that after its 0 - 4 start to the 2025 football season. There are clearly problems with poor execution, some of which were evident well before the current season and were in play when the Demons met the Cats in early May last year and beat them in a near top-of-the-table clash that saw both sides sitting comfortably in the top four after round eight. Since that game, the Demons’ performances have been positively Third World with only five wins in 19 games with a no longer majestic midfield and a dysfunctional forward line that has become too easy for opposing coaches to counter. This is an area of their game that is currently being played out as if they were all completely panic-stricken.

  • PREGAME: Essendon

Facing the very real and daunting prospect of starting the season with five straight losses, the Demons head to South Australia for the annual Gather Round, where they’ll take on the Bombers in search of their first win of the year. Who comes in, and who comes out?

  • NON-MFC: Round 04

Round 4 kicks off with a blockbuster on Thursday night as traditional rivals Collingwood and Carlton clash at the MCG, with the Magpies looking to assert themselves as early-season contenders and the Blues seeking their first win of the season. Saturday opens with Gold Coast hosting Adelaide, a key test for the Suns as they aim to back up their big win last week, while the Crows will be looking to keep their perfect record intact. Reigning wooden spooners Richmond have the daunting task of facing reigning premiers Brisbane at the ‘G and the Lions will be eager to reaffirm their premiership credentials after a patchy start. Saturday night sees North Melbourne take on Sydney at Marvel Stadium, with the Swans looking to build on their first win of the season last week against a rebuilding Roos outfit. Sunday’s action begins with GWS hosting West Coast at ENGIE Stadium, a game that could get ugly very early for the visitors. Port Adelaide vs St Kilda at Adelaide Oval looms as a interesting clash, with both clubs form being very hard to read. The round wraps up with Fremantle taking on the Western Bulldogs at Optus Stadium in what could be a fierce contest between two sides with top-eight ambitions. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons besides us winning?
