Yes, there’s only so much resilience you can build into Perry’s ribs…

The least bagged players on DL are Clarry, Trac, Max and Viney I reckon. Oh and maybe JVR. Hasn’t done enough wrong yet 😂

I know it’s not Max or Trac. They’ve both been nothing but lovely when I’ve met them before. Viney would probably punch you if you annoyed him 😂

This is why I don’t tell people about how rude this player is, without exception I’ll be told of how nice he is. How he obliged in a very friendly manner for a pic or an autograph etc. But ask anyone in the Demon Army (of those of us who are heavily involved so therefore known to the players) and they’ll tell you… he has zero time for us. I could tell you a couple of stories you’d have trouble believing, such is his blatant rudeness.

Tell them in a de-identified way 🙌🏼🤩

Crows dropping Lachlan Murphy seems a big statement for them, he's had a good year.

The rude player probably used to read DL and was shocked at all the negativity even during our flag season.

Come on give us a hint. Its your call.

May,Fritsch or Hibberd?

come WCW out with it

Well I still don’t know who you’re talking about, but whoever it is, that is very disappointing to hear. All players should make time for supporters, especially those who spend so much time volunteering and helping in the cheer squad.

For what it’s worth, every Melbourne player I’ve ever randomly met has been really really nice.

On a side note, the night we beat Saints in a final (yes it was that long ago), I went out with friends after the game and we ran into Nick Del Santo. He was a real [censored]. I told him he and his team sucked. He was an [censored] before I told him that. No regrets 😂*

Actually, it’s the complete reverse. The player in question is arguably the player least bagged on DL. Besides that, he couldn’t give a fat rat’s about anything that’s said about him or his teammates. That’s as much of a hint as I’ll give since I know that people who you’d think don’t read DL, actually do. 😉

Edit: Never mind, this speculation doesn’t end anywhere good

I wanted him to play half forward because he's a very accurate kick for goal. You back??

Here we go again.

More rubbish speculation on some unknown dees player who supposedly has zero time for the Demon army.

Seriously, who cares. Has nothing to do with this thread.

Back on topic, here are a few dot points on what I'm looking forward to this weekend against the Crows

• Max going solo again. If he has another game like he did against the Lions then the discussion ramps up again regarding the debate on Grundy's worth in the team

• Another week for Brown and JVR to build some cohesion up forward. We really need this forward line humming before finals.

• Petracca up forward and the midfield taking care of business without him.

• Mcvee match up on Rankine.

• Kozzie to hopefully show that he's back in form.

Back just before Blues match. On Kefalonia. Beautiful but 40 degrees. Rome hit 48 two days ago.

Bloody good innings from JB. Unlucky to be left stranded at the other end. Back against the wall type of innings too, the man rises against adversity. His keeping will go up a few notches now.

I don't think enough has been said about Woey keeping his spot with other players available. Well done lad, keep it going.

Did he spend time in South Australia as a junior by any chance?

Interesting, because I was also reliably told of two players who were very rude to staff during the Daniher era, one particularly who you’d never have ever guessed, the other line ball perhaps.

I worked as a trainer for an interstate side for a period about 20 years ago. Whilst most of the players, coaches and staff were great, there were a few exceptions. A few very rude ones, most notably the coach in fact. Couldn’t even acknowledge us hours before the game walking past. I suspect this sort of thing happens everywhere though.

Gussy is a top bloke - had plenty of time for my son to sign some autographs during preseason after a gruelling 40min running session after one of the practice matches in a sweltering day so doubtful. Same goes for Kozzy, BBB and Gawn.

My stab in the dark would be Maysie. Has a bit of an ego about him I think.

Is Hibbo still being ,managed? I want him Cherry ripe for later in the year

will allow Bowey to go forward where he will be a great link man

JS the sub?

I made mention few pages back that I was stoked to see him get another game.

I would like to see him play more midfield minutes instead of a half forward where he's been playing. That's where he's been in super form at VFL.

Kid has a touch of class about him.

Personally I'd love to look at what Bowser could add up forward.

How gorgeous are the Ionian islands M_9? One of my favourite holidays was a fortnight hopping around Lefkada, Kefalonia and Ithaka in autumn. You can keep the 40 degree heat though!

I was using WCWs comments around everyone saying he's a legend as a process of elimination

It's an interesting topic I assume in this case there's a familiarity bias or something-  the Demon Army are always around the team so I can kind of see how they might not get as much attention from some of the players as they probably deserve - less effort put into each interaction because there are more of them?

Danger game.   Crows on the rebound after last quarter fade out. They’ve got some talent and we will need to watch Rankine who usually plays well against us.  Judd Mcvee gets the job imv and I’ll back him in. May gets Tex and Tomlinson on Fogarty.  Backs with Lever as intercept look ok.
Without Laird, our midfield clearly should win the day. Gawn and the Mids will give us plenty of supply so like to see JVR and BBB actually hit the scoreboard and nail a few goals each.  Kozzzy to light it up hopefully.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
