Hop off the couch and head out now, FB. Itโ€™s way more fun hating Brisbane when youโ€™re here. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

At one stage this week the Lions were $3.25 and we were $1.38. a lot of money has been poured on e lions today, lets hope the Poured becomes poor by game end.

We were never 1.38. Or anywhere near it

Never read a Danielle Steel novel, never will. I just remember hearing about how in 75% of her novels the opening paragraph is a description of the weather.ย

Had a quick look on the Web.

Romance novel, new experiences and the life of the rich and famous,ย dealing with serious life issues like illness, death, loss, family crises, andย ...

Not too far from the MFC experience.ย

Would like to see Viney clean up Zorko That would give me pleasure.

If we can win the game that will give me plenty of pleasure.

Yes we were. Ladbrokes opening market. Was a silly quote and lasted a very short time.

Hate seeing that on the ponies - always worry the owners have jumped off.

Been some big big bets on the Lions today can't find much going the other way. Make our win even more enjoyable.

I'm excited to see Brown, JVR and Melksham together. With the exception of Fritsch (who is a great individual forward but not necessarily a "team player" in the forward line) and with the exception also of Tom McDonald (though he isn't what he was), this is out crafty-est forward mix.

I think a huge amount of our problems with connection are simply that our forwards don't know how to play forward - at least with Brown, JVR, and Melksham you have three talls with the nous to display proper leading patterns, which should hopefully provide good targets to our midfield.

Throw in Petracca, Kosi (hoping for him to give us something) and ANB/Spargo, I think there's something to work with.

Just have to win the contested ball, so Petracca's forward/midfield mix will be interesting. Petracca's more of an outside player in our midfield though, so hoping he goes forward and Viney/Sparrow/Jordan/Brayshaw can win enough of it and lower their eyes when going forward to the Brown/JVR/Melksham trio, with Kosi and Petracca lurking.

Just sitting on my couch waiting to head to the ground thinking about how much I bloody hate Brisbane

The lions are well down the list of my most disliked teams. I despise Zorko though.

On my way in on the train as we speak. Will soon be enjoying my first ale of the night at the corner hotel.

You're speaking for yourself, jnrmac. We ALL would find it extremely pleasurable for Zorko to be cleaned up; firstly, by Viney as you state (because he would carry the dizziness and disorientation for a whole game) and secondly, by any other likely Demon candidate except Petty, such a Spaz, Hibs, Rivers, Tracca or May, just to name a few. Hell, after a few of these 'tragic' accidents, even Spargo could manage a backhander to the nethers for good measure.ย

Yep, make it a Smithyย

Not a betting man. Does the Lions being favourites hurt our chances of winning or is it totally irrelevant?

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Letโ€™s be honest, last weekโ€™s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper โ€” second versus seventeenth โ€” football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrowโ€™s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the teamโ€™s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at seasonโ€™s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
