After being pretty bitterly disappointed by almost everything football related last week...

Starting with the death ride games; not much to gain. Obvious Carlton v Freo is a big deal as it is both a game Freo would be expecting to win and it would directly lift Carlton over them thanks to the Blue's bizarre percentage.

Freo lose that, then one of Richmond or Sydney will step ahead of them. I'd prefer Richmond to get the win just because I think the Swans will keep clawing up the ladder enough to pass Freo later, while Richmond need every win they can get.

bunch of other games just keep teams ahead of Freo, rather than pulling in front of them.

And for our security in the top 4.

Collingwood over Dogs, and Demons over Saints, would put us a game and a big chunk of percentage ahead of our two main pursuers.

One of Essendon or the Crows will go to 9 wins, Essendon is probably better for us because the Crows have much higher percentage and Essendon will presumably choke late in the season.

Also, if West Coast decide to go the biff and get a bunch of players from both sides suspended that would be the only unpredictable or useful outcome of the Brisbane - West Coast game. I mean, legend has it that back before the Eagles unilaterally relegated themselves, there was a bit of a Eagles-Lions rivalry.

A 16 point weekend for us (2x 8 point games)

A Demon loss and a Dogs win is unthinkable (MFCSS)

Everytime I see Sydney play, I wonder if Heeney is actually having a just above average career. He's been played forward but only kicked 200 goals from 160 games.

I dunno. Considering the hype and talent, always expected him to be better than he has been

Lol, team selection much more interesting than tonightโ€™s game it seems. Not a bad game thoughย

We can include cricket talk in this right...?

*half joking*

Yes. Not great.ย

3/61 at the Cricket.

Tonights game is not a bad one either.

Nope... feel like the press and build up over there has unfortunately starting to take a minor toll.

Need to remain composed here.

Canโ€™t wait for Franklin to leave the game. Just turned the game on 10 minutes ago and heโ€™s gotten away with a blatant throw then appeals for deliberate out of bounds and gets it when thereโ€™s was nothing in it.ย
Really hoping Tigers win.

I reckon they made a great calling choosing to bowl. Put the pressure on us, and it worked.

There is nobody I enjoy watching play footy more in a non Melbourne jumper than Bolton

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

Itโ€™s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle โ€“ perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

It was only a preseason match but the new look Demons spearheaded by new coach Steven King looked impressive as they put on a clinic against perennial cellar-dwellers North Melbourne as they cruised to an 80 point victory at Casey Fields.
