Goody only mentioned four times in his presser that we didn't get a 14 day break so let's hope somebody at AFLHQ was watching.

I hope our players go to the AFLPA and complain about this joke of a bye two years running. While at it, I also hope they complain about having to play in Geelong 😂

I got the definite feeling from listening to Goody's press conference that he actually prefers the 10-day break (with 4 days off) because it is less impactful on their continuity than a 14-day break, and the fact they are training a few times before the Thursday match (including at GMHBA) will be better than losing training time.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

Fair point mauriesy.

Might be a good opportunity for the boys to get together post bye with a night away. Geelong isn’t far but I doubt it’s ideal preparation for someone like Gawn to drive 2+ hours on game day (Geelong is not an hour away if you don’t live in the western suburbs which most of our players don’t).
I know the guys from the peninsula way can catch the ferry across but it’s still a long journey. Every 1% helps!

That is happening.

They will stay where I did last Saturday night, the day before the game.

Why do reporters ask the same dumbass questions every week. Q. How important is it that ...yada yada yada....

Did they ask about our connection and forward issues?

By adjusting Casey Fields to Alphabet Stadium proportions for training this week all they needed to do is draw a straight line from pocket to pocket on the outer wing.

When they decided to rebuild the entire place did nobody think to move it 5 metres to the left.

Whinging about Kardinia Park being narrow. Keep it going, keep it going. | Page 4 | BigFooty Forum

What a weird, stupid place.  Like the coach and half the players

I just finished watching the presser, and I could be wildly inaccurate here, but I think Goody has deliberately stayed quiet on the Oliver and Petty situation as a way to get a tactical edge on Scott. We all know Goody has lost tactical battles against him so I think he wants to keep him guessing as close to the game as possible.

Secondly, I think it’s a brilliant idea to train at GMHBA, no other Victorian teams do it and often the Cats will get a fast start when the opposition is still adjusting to the ground. We’ve been a good travelling side in the past so I think to treat this as an interstate game is really smart. Let’s hope it pays off!

He's not playing games re Petty. Had a setback, straight lines no problem but agility work still causing discomfort

I thought getting an opposition ticket at kitty litterland was harder than winning tattslotto! How much did it cost, may I ask?

60 smackers to sit in the designated away bay.

$30 more than the world class stadium up the highway.

Petty would be really rusty but would it be possible if cleared for him to play sub?

Or would he be better served with a full game in tge 2s?

Just me perhaps.. surely back via the ressies to get some match time.

Why would Geelong do that. Would remove an advantage to them. Unfair to expect other teams to play at moggiedishu.

The last time we had a 10 day break, we flogged the Lions by 10 goals. Goody might be confident of a similar result this time around!

If Oliver, Petty and Bowey are all fit to play it will be one of the most interesting selection nights for a while.

Bowey is fit surely. He's had plenty of time to recover from the concussion. Going by Goody's presser today, I'd say he isn't in the frame this week.

Hi Bystander. Sure I take your point. That said, knowing that the ground was to be redeveloped, if I were the AFL I would have suggested that it was an opportune moment to increase the width and make it an oval in the true sense of the word, even if it is just 115m wide. From an architectural perspective it would also have given them the chance to complete the main grandstand and roof all the way round.

    TRAINING: Tuesday 28th May 2024

Veteran Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin returned to the training track to bring you the following observations from Gosch's Paddock this morning. Beautiful morning for training. The dew has dried, out from AAMI, quiet chatting. Maysie does his heart symbol. 7 in rehab, Turner, Hore, Sestan, BBB, Petty, Spargo and Schache. All in runners. Melky weighted and change of angles work. Salem has his individual program. White cap (no contact), Howes, Woewodin and Sparrow

    GALLANT by KC from Casey

The world “gallant” is not one that is readily acceptable to losing teams in our game of football so when it was used in the context of the Casey Demons’ loss to Sandringham in yesterday’s match at Casey Fields, it left a bitter taste in the mouth.  The Demons went into the game against the St Kilda affiliated Zebras with the advantage of playing on their home turf (not that this has been a major asset in 2024) and with very little else going in their favour. The Saints have close to a full

    MEANWHILE by Whispering Jack

… meanwhile, at about the same time that Narrm was putting its feet on the accelerator to obliterate the long-suffering Euro-Yroke combination, I heard someone mention in passing that Kuwarna was leading Waalitj Marawar by a whopping 46 to 1 halfway through the second quarter of their game over in Adelaide. “What is football coming to?” I asked myself.  In front of my eyes, the Demons were smashing it through the midfield, forcing turnovers and getting the footy to their forwards who w

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th
