Tonights a tough game, who do you want to see lose more. Guess draft picks beats more dog pain. Swan beating the Cats and Saints beating the Blues would be nice.

Doggies

Adelaide

Lions

Criws

Saints

North (dark horse)

MFCSS

Bombers

Have taken a few risks this round to keep things interesting! And also to see a few hated teams fall haha

in a very long season it's still time to think about the final 4

A game in Perth is off the radar but SA Qld and Sydney are possibles

On that basis Cats over Swans and the miracle of Eagles and Hawks over the two Adelaide teams

Giants over Lions

Freo over dogs for the obvious reasons

The rest ????

I don't trust Carlton but wouldn't be surprised with an upset for reasons I can't explain.

There will be shocks and upsets this weekend. If there wasn't we'd all load up on the punt and get 8/9 winners every week.

Wouldn't be shocked if Hawthorn knock off Adelaide. Hawks play their best footy in Launceston and Adelaide have been home for 4 games in a row so will need to adjust to foreign territory.

Giants could also knock off Brisbane in Canberra if all goes right for them.

North could lift for Goldy??

Not a chance West Coast could upset Port though with their glorified WAFL side.

Hard one for the Dogs coming off a tough game against Port.

I can see the Swans pulling off an upset.

I can’t conceive of any reason why I’d prefer freo to win a game this year other than if it ensures we get a better finals position.

The only time I barracked for the eagles in my life was round 3 this year. And I really dislike the eagles.

I’d be very surprised if the hawks beat Adelaide. Crows will win by 40+ I reckon. And they will play finals this year.

Still don’t think Freo is playing as well as they could.  Even last week they only just got over the Suns.

The only wildcard is it’s in Perth, but the doggies have played there a lot so they know the ground and the weather will suit them. They have a better defense v fwd over the Freo matchups.

Fingers cross the doggies can get a good game going.

It was like the cops and the army buzzing around trying to bring down King Kong.

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.

  • POSTGAME: Essendon

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

  • GAMEDAY: Essendon

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?
