Ah the sweet sweet schadenfreude

I also loved the fan who could be heard screaming “you filthy cheats”, a few moments after the game was confirmed to be over with no score review 😂

That's correct they were from the RCH

Youre probably right.

Theyre being used as props. I havent seen the entire presser but i assume they dont take questions from the media gallery. Why are they there. Why not bring in some doctors and nurses while theyre at it..

We could almost pencil the Saints in to make the 8.  They've won four (Freo, WBD, Ess and GCS) and have 2xHawks, 2xNorth, 1xGCS and 1xWCE to go.  A dream fixture!!

Very good chance they will win all those, especially as they get more players back, giving them 10 wins.  Only need to pinch a couple more to make the 8, which may require an 'extra' win than as there are 23 games this season.

Bulldogs are in the thick of the action and are likely to be a good side,  while Freo are talented and could still play finals. I’m not sure I agree that St Kilda  haven’t beat a reasonable side.

Fremantle’s first four games have been terrible. They likely would be 0-4 if West Coast had had a bench to rotate last week.

I’ll give them the Dogs win but the Dogs in Round 2 were all over the place, absolutely nothing like their more recent fortnight. But Fremantle, Essendon and Gold Coast haven’t exactly set the world on fire so far. It’s been a soft fixture, no matter how much you like St Kilda or are concerned about them beating us.

What you've described is exactly why Carlton are 3rd favourites. They've not played particularly convincingly and are 3 wins and a draw from a reasonably tough opening month.

Good maturing teams stack wins when they aren't humming, and the Blues are showing some good signs of maturing.

They were easily top 4 on quality last year...as odd as it was for Collingwood to win all those close ones it was equally as odd for Carlton to lose as many close ones as they did.

They'll be top 4 this year and a serious serious chance. I would not want to play them in a final. If they Breakeven in the middle, Charlie and Harry win them games and pretty much no team can mark them both. Their flanker types are developing around them, and their defence is very good with Weitering and Young taking the next step.

They have every piece in place IMO and just need to manage their year, manage their timing and find momentum at the right time. Easier said than done but they will be absolutely thrilled to be unbeaten with very little fanfare or noise.

Agree. They’re undefeated but with room to improve, if I were a Carlton fan I’d be pretty happy with that.

I'll agree when they make the Eight.

I really thought that Gold Coast were nothing short of pathetic last night. Not sure how much more we have to put up with these uncompetitive performances but if they say they want to play finals then these are the games you have to win. You can't just gee yourself up for a big one last week and then relax. It's been going on long enough and it's almost curtains in 2023 already for them.

Sounds like Lynch could miss Anzac eve. his bump didn’t look like much on Keath but he was concussed and the Sun are saying ‘big ban’….

He deviated from the marking contest, left the ground, made contact with the player's head, leading to concussion. He has to go for weeks for that.

Turning his body away from the ball looks bad, rub him out.

Didn’t realize Jeremy Finlayson’s wife was so ill. Makes it even better that he kicked the winning goal last night.

I’m so happy for Jesse, it seems he’s happy at the Giants and playing some decent football.

So much to unpack in so short a period of time. There’s Callum Mills running forward with arms in the air, prematurely celebrating. There’s Buddy straight-up pushing Bergman in the back. And of course, the hand of Aliir like something from the Sistine Chapel majestically punching the ball away, it was almost biblical. 😁 ‘Twas a joy to behold.

Stage 4 aggressive bowel cancer which has now metastasised to her lungs. She likely won’t be around to see their little girl grow up. Grimly puts things in perspective.

SO MUCH TO UNPACK!

The funniest thing about Buddy going right into Bergman's back and falling over is that he cleared room for Alir Alir to come through for the punch.

For some reason the fans arm pumping up and down that blocks the camera view cos he thinks they are going to win also cracks me up 🤣

Yep. Hug your loved ones and tell them how special they are. Enjoy the win today everyone.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
