Just for interest, how old were David Neitz and Nate Jones when they played their 150th?

From a quick check of AFL Tables both Neitz and Jones were approximately 25 years 150 days old at their 150th games.

Chunk of course only played 2 finals in his first 150, whereas Clarry has played in 8.

In an earlier postย  150 out of a possible 160 games.ย  talk about consistency

No one at the MFC has done that quick beforeย  and I don't know of anyone at any other club that might have done something similar,

Have a great game on Sundayย  ย Go DEES

ย

Completely different player from Flower, although not so dissimilar to RDB, Oliver must now be in the conversation for best Melbourne player of the last 70 years.

Congrats Clarry hope you have a ripper and more importantly a win in your 150th.

Barring injury, will play well over 300 games and most likely finish his career as our most decorated player ever (subject to a couple more flags).

The thing that excites me about Clarry (and Trac) is that he's a wonderful contested mark and was a really good junior forward.ย  I have no doubt when he gets a tad older, he'll be able to spend more time up forward and have a genuine impact there as well as the midfield.

Have you seen the strapping on his shoulder? His overhead marking isnโ€™t elite.

judd was also limited overhead however had a stellar career

If Oliver were to finish his career tomorrow he would still go down as a top 5 demon player since the 50โ€™s era.ย

to think that he is just 25 is astonishingย

I feel like this milestone needs some amazing Clarry artwork by a talented creative.ย

I suspect Dustin Martin might be similar. I seem to recall he only missed something like 8 games out of his first 200.

To be honest,ย  ย he is not a bad player either, similar ranking, certainly from Tiger supporters

King Clarry ๐Ÿ‘‘

One of the reasons I started following the Dees upon my arrival to the Oz land.

It's been such an enjoyable journey watching this talent develop. Amazing to think we are only halfway through this viewing this greatness.

Trac and Clarry are contracted for another 6 and 7 seasons so surely will have the opportunity to make 300.
We will probably get another 100 out of Angus too who has 5 years left on his current deal.ย

Mrs Frittaโ€™s 50th was held at the Coldstream FC. I was standing looking up at the honours board, framed jumpers etc. when a bloke came and stood next to me. We chatted for a bit about footy and life in general. He asked me how I knew Pauline. I told him how we became friends through the cheer squad. I asked him the same thing. He said, โ€œour kids play footy together.โ€ I says, โ€œyeah? Whatโ€™s your kidโ€™s name?โ€ He says, โ€œClayton.โ€ On the outside I was like โ€œso youโ€™re Clarrieโ€™s dad, cool.โ€ But on the inside I had stopped breathing and was going into mild cardiac arrest knowing I was in the presence of the creator of greatness. My poker face clearly betrayed me coz then he said, โ€œweโ€™re just a regular ordinary family. Nothing special.โ€

So itโ€™s no wonder Clarrie is as down to earth and humble as he is.ย

Incidentally, both of his parents speak clearly, so I guess that trait must skip a generation. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Congrats on 150 games to Clayton Oliver!

Clarry is already the best Demon in my lifetime. Scary to think he's only 25 and still has so much elite footy ahead of him. He's the best inside midfielder in my lifetime too. His quick hands and ability to absorb tackles and dispose cleanly is unmatched by anyone. Some of his groundball gets while on the move are just [censored]. His toughness and ability to win contested ball is unmatched by anyone. Top 5 in the league for tackles too, so he works hard both ways and is very very consistent.ย

Back to back coaches MVP awards puts him alongside Gary Ablett Jnr and ahead of Dusty, Dangerfield, Fyfe, Bontempelli etc. When his career is finished, you'd look at that and say it's right. If he didn't have gun team mates like Petracca, Gawn, Brayshaw etc stealing Brownlow votes off him, he'd have won 2-3 Brownlows by now. He's the most consistent and hard midfielder in the league. Coaches would dream of having him in their side. He'd be first picked league wide.

Here's hoping Clarry can stay healthy and fit and give us 150 more!

Choo Choo!

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
