Mitch H is not loved by a few Bulldogs fans

Is he their ANB?

Would you love a Midfield that stood for 45 minutes, in a GF and did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING….

My pics don’t do it justice. It looks amazing. But whether it’s gonna be ready to play on is another thing entirely. I’m glad a couple of other games will be played on it before ours.

I agree, that turf is ready grown before  it’s shipped in. The big question is has it settled on the deck.

Yep. If it starts shifting and players lose their feet or get stuck when they change direction.
Look out. It will be front page on Friday….

Doesn’t look very stable in those pics to me.

I wouldn’t risk Viney for Round 1

Tom Sparrow the time is now

Sparrow should be the man. Knee injuries are too risky to 'rush back' from reduced training capacities into the team. We should just wait ... both Viney and Sparrow in the one team performing similar roles would be awesome and worth waiting for - particularly now that Sparrow is displaying the skills, attributes and drive we previously expected and hoped for on a consistent basis. These two are going to be a tag-team of toughness, brutality and ascendency. We look for mongrels and now we have them.

Please, we don't need that sort of language on Demonland 😋

WCW started it! 🤪

Fritta is the only one out of the three I wanted to play this weekend. Feel more confident with him in the forward line

So who gets Fritsch’s forward line spot? Chandler?

JVR?  Height diff only 5 cm.

Let Grundy or Gawn spend more time behind the ball especially as WB defence isn't that tall even if they put the very inexperienced Darcy back there.

Schache?

Could get thrown down back if their tall forwards start to get hold off us.

Good to hear - a different plan from last year.

It's time for people around the league who only saw a couple of his good cameos at Melb to accept what he is: an average player that will have a good game every now and then. At least ANB will give you constant chasing and pressure all game whereas Hannan's thing is flying for speccies.

Could he do a job in this game for the Dogs? Yes he could easily pop up and kick a few, but I know who I'd prefer out of those two.

Social media let a small clue slip with a prominent Laurie photo.

Logically it with be Laurie or Woey and I think they’ll stick with Laurie as the forward.

Same 22 as the Tigers game.

Doubt they mess around with talls for no reason

In the GF May settled a score with Hannan and legally dropped him in play the first quarter.  If he plays fwd he will steer clear of May 🙂

Fritsch out mmmmm!

I’d like to know just what his injury is.

Me too. It can't just be a simple "someone stepped on his foot". You don't miss that much footy from a bruise.

Must be something more sinister. A hot spot they are trying hard to manage or a hairline fracture.

Viney sounds like some bruising/swelling maybe a low grade PCL?

According to AFL website, Frtisch further away than we think.  Viney closer to playing:

This is the post @DeeSpencer is referring to.

Twitter's image cropping algorithm is pretty crappy so here is the photo he is referring to.

Viney, Fritta and Salem are three big outs. We will do well to win without those 3.

Hope I am very wrong, but I just don't see 'it" in Laurie.

From Goodwin's press conf:  "Look, Viney, Fritsch and Salem all won't play. Viney is probably, he's close, you know, he's a big chance to play next week and Fritta is very close as well. He'll play next week as well. So and potentially Salem as well," Goodwin said.

It sounds like they have recovered from their injuries but just underdone.  "So those three guys just a little bit short in terms of their preparation. But we feel like with another couple of weeks of load into their bodies, they're going to be right for the season, for the whole season"

I'm sure we are all happy to read that last sentence!!

Is there a Casey practice match this week for them to have some game time?  Otherwise more intense training!

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
