Then we have Reid.

Don’t think we will get Darling. Why would he leave?

Agreed, we won't get or want Darling.

I think we'll be able to find a spot for him in our forward half just quietly.

McVee May Lever

Salem Tomlinson Rivers

Langdon Oliver Hunter

Petracca Petty Fritsch

Pickett JVR Reid

Gawn Viney Sparrow

Brayshaw Neal-Bullen McAdam Bowey

Smith or Howes for sub.

Chandler misses out.

Spargo, Chandler, ANB, Hunter and Smith for starters.

Hibbo and JJ who have gone.

I hope you mean which player, as in there’s 4-5 to choose from.

2 drafts since the 21 flag, which trade deals have improved our list?

2021- Dunstan x 5 games retired

2022-  Grundy gone,  Schache x 2 games , Hunter only player getting a regular game…

How has our list improved comparing  this to Collingwood & Brisbane??

What do these players all have in common?

None finished in the top 10 of the bluey.

Hold on that's not the case.

Having finished 9th last season, Nibbla finished 6th this season.

If you're not sure who you want to take at pick one, pass.

Or perhaps don't ever bother to try and understand what the draft is or what it is trying to achieve and pass altogether.

You may be right, but here's a more complete picture that includes young players who seem to have a future

21

Jacob van Rooyen

Blake Howes

Taj Woewodin

22

Jud McVee

Andy Moniz-Wakefield

Mathew Jefferson

Jed Adams

Schache and Dunstan were never more than depth. Look at the price paid.

Grundy rucked alone, while Max was injured and it was more Max who failed than Grundy. Grundy was meant to ruck more with Max forward and because Max couldn’t play forward, they wanted Grundy to. That wasn’t the intent of getting him. We got back what we paid, it was 1 year and we move on.

Plenty of clubs bring in players who don’t consistently make their side. Often they are depth players.

We certainly have had recent success trading which led to a flag, getting Langdon, May, Lever, BBB, Hibberd and Melksham as examples.

Likewise not every draftee will be successful.

It is par for the course, hits and misses. The big hope is that the misses aren’t expensive.

If you ever want an example of the media BS that is spouted.

Fox Sports headline about Hawks landing a “star”.

The star is Chol who struggled to make the Suns side.

Really, Chol a star?

Agree our  trades prior to 2021 flag were  great but last 2 seasons have bee misses , let’s hope 2023 brings in talent

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
