Pickett never has been a consistent player. I will say though when he is on it is a joy to watch. He has had a couple of baddies so he will have a hot one in the next few weeks and we will all be salivating again.

Was pretty consistent the two previous years.

I have to imagine that Kozzie's drop in form has been the direct result of these negotiations dragging out. I've got no doubt once it's all done and dusted he'll be fine. Really wish he, his manager, and the club had just sorted it out before the start of the season if Melbourne was always going to be his final destination.

I think he just needs to get back to basics; tackle, pressure, stay on the ground for a bit, be at the fall of the ball.

It will certainly be a massive lift when it's all done.

I think Kozzie has been struggling post suspension because he has doubt in his mind about how hard he can bump/tackle. His game has always been built on putting on pressure, hitting bodies and tackling hard and since being suspended for an incident where he didn’t even hurt anyone I think he is overthinking the pressure side of his game and it’s making him less instinctive. Hopefully he gets back to his best this week.

100% I think this is the issue.

He is so physical but I think he's a bit scared about going too hard and getting suspended again. It's a fine balance and I am sure he will get there.

Kozzie's agent is Peter Rohde?

The ex MFC player and Dogs coach?

Kozzie needs to get back to basics, he’s trying to do the impossible all the time.

Just hunt the footy and bodies and the rest will come

Reliable not remarkable

If he signs again the contract should include mogadon in his orange juice.

Slow down until you actually need to go fast son

A fine balance? the report was undisciplined and really bad judgement, that's a long way from fine line.

It should be pretty easy to adjust to avoid  that and go back to blocking the tackler so Trac can dribble leg breaks through the goal from the boundary

What he did was bad and he deserved his suspension, but it's very much unlike him. He is a very hard player, but he hasn't ever done anything that isn't in the spirit of the game until that incident.

I think psychologically he probably has it at the back of his head that players are now being suspended for a variety of high hits and tackles, and maybe he is second guessing himself. It's probably subconscious.

He needs to lay one good big tackle and get rewarded for it, and I think the doubts will go away.

We don’t get rewarded for good tackles.

He kicked 40 goals over two years at 19/20.... that's pretty consistent in my book.

If Kade is out injured this week this is the perfect game for Kozi to go nuts with a bag of 6, isolate him in the front half he will run rings around the North defense

Is Chandler out this week?

Was shown on Ch9 news hobbling in to get scans on Tuesday for a severe corkie.  5 day break will be the problem.

Tx George.

Is Spargo coming back in?

Don't believe the contract is a problem, just doing the fine tuning.

Also in that link is an article that you can't park at the G unless you have pre purchased a ticket, how's that work if you have a walk up membership ?

Yeah wouldn't mind giving him another opportunity in that role.

I suspect it'll be Laurie, but they might also consider Harmes

I think Laurie is more suited for that small forward role than Harmes.

Has he been playing in that role at Casey?

He’s been playing more midfield this season. But has played half forward previously at Casey. Very similar to Chandler’s role at Casey.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
