How come we don’t get the home advantage of Casey?!

Casey renovations apparently. Dressing rooms being demolished and rebuilt I think

I know Richmond gave Brisbane their only loss for the season but the Lions should win the rematch by around 100pts if they're switched on. Tigers had a pretty easy draw that helped them finish with a double chance. Anyone outside the top three this year really are making up the numbers.

The renovations were scheduled for now before season 7 was announced.

I'm not sure that Adeliade are a chance this year. They have a pretty blunt attack now that Erin Phillips has left. She's a big loss

North are the 4th best team and could create problems for us. We just managed to beat them during the H&A with poor kicking almost costing us that game. They had a tough fixture hence why they finished 8th

I'd be surprised if the granny isn't between us and the Lions. Both teams have been super impressive and very consistent. Neither looked like losing in the run-in.

Same, BDA. But I don’t worry about the Lions like I did about the Crows last season. I really believe we can beat anyone.

Going to miss this one (always knew I should have got the Saturday night tickets for Colin Hay instead of the Friday), will have a late night watching the replay.

May as well have a vegemite sandwich while watching ;)

I do love going out to see a band and then hunkering down at midnight to watch a delayed match. Sounds like a great night

Girls have great balance this year and should be too good for the Crows this time.

Any time, anywhere. We have been a far better side than Adelaide this year, and should win reasonably comfortably if we take our chances. Poor goalkicking is the number one threat to us winning a premiership this year, but playing away from Casey Fields show help our efficiency.

2022 at home: 35.45; away 38.36.

Mind you, the worst 'home' was the 3.8 nailbiter at the 'G...

...at a happy hunting ground:

"The match will be the second time the Dees have played at IKON Park this season, defeating Carlton by 42 points in Round 5".

Not happy. We should be playing at casey but it is not to be. You can bet Adelaide will be happy about the fixture. And to think that the two maggots of the comp in the filth and Geelong have their home ground to play on disgusts me.😒

I reckon North have also improved and built a lot of form since we played them as well...

Have my tickets, and hope lots of Dees fans go along. Not our home ground, but let's make it one!

So does anyone want to offer an opinion on the Tigers? It’s easy to see them getting walked over by Brisbane next week but they have beaten them this year (we haven’t) and they also forced North to a draw who had everything to play for. Tigers also apparently have some handy players to come in.

We have continued to improve each week & we’re a well balanced even team who doesn’t rely on 3 or 4 superstars to win it for us. We’re a vastly different side to the one who played Bris and  Nth earlier in the year . Playing away from Casey will help our goal kicking  as well

I hope so too, DiO .

Unfortunately a member of the Demon Army who was at Saturday’s match tested positive for covid this morning. Because our QF is on Friday she won’t be able to attend. Hoping no one else comes up positive. 🤞🏼

Is that a DA protocol, WCW? Cos the public protocol is isolate just while symptomatic, and she might be 'right' by Friday?

As to infecting others on Saturday, no self-respecting virus could successfully navigate between 2 people in Casey's microclimate!

The 5-day isolation period isn’t mandatory but is recommended. She is symptomatic, so is erring on the side of caution.

Most of us have already had covid but that doesn’t mean we can’t get it again. We’ll all be testing daily and hoping no one else has it. 🤞🏼

Despite a spirited third quarter surge, the Demons have slumped to their worst start to a season since 2012, remaining winless and second last on the ladder after a 39-point defeat to Essendon at Adelaide Oval in Gather Round.

It’s Game Day, and the Demons are staring down the barrel of an 0-5 start for the first time since 2012 as they take on Essendon at Adelaide Oval for Gather Round. In that forgettable season, Melbourne finally broke their drought by toppling the Bombers. Can lightning strike twice? Will the Dees turn their nightmare start around and breathe life back into 2025?

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

As the focus of the AFL moves exclusively to South Australia for Gather Round, the question is raised as to what are we going to get from the  Melbourne Football Club this weekend? Will it be a repeat of the slop fest of the last three weeks that have seen the team score a measly 174 points and concede 310 or will a return to the City of Churches and the scene where they performed at their best in 2024 act as a wakeup call and bring them out of their early season reverie?  Or will the sleepy Dees treat their fans to a reenactment of their lazy effort from the first Gather Round of two years ago when they allowed the Bombers to trample all over them on a soggy and wet Adelaide Oval? The two examples from above tell us how fickle form can be in football. Last year, a committed group of players turned up in Adelaide with a businesslike mindset. They had a plan, went in confidently and hard for the football and kicked winning scores against both home teams in a difficult environment for visitors. And they repeated that sort of effort later in the season when they played Essendon at the MCG.
