I think the vital question being ignored here is where the hell is Kane Cornes sitting? Does he have a magic golden box and bowl setup?

The Media absolutely hating on us this year.

I can’t watch any of the footy shows anymore , King, Cornes, Whateley, Robbo, Caroline Wilson, BT, just love sinking the boots in.

I mentioned the hate for the Demons on here a few years back and mostly got howled down as it being nonsense.

Hope everyone here has felt that this year as it's not just the odd media journo.

If you attended a few games at the G you would have felt/heard it there as well.

2023 has to be a big year for this club.  Need to come out and wack all these farkers big time.

2023 ....THE YEAR OF NO MERCY!!

Where was the ‘player’s code’ when Buddy faked being hit in the back to milk a free which turned the momentum in the grand final? That guy is seriously untouchable. His antics should have drawn much more attention. Oliver is hated and admired at the same time

Open season on our players then?

“The Lions called on evidence from AFL great Luke Hodge and a neurosurgeon as part of their defence of Berry.”

Luke Hodge in for some impartial evidence. I mean he mounted the defence for Berry immediately in the media. What a conflict of interest. I hate Brisbane, the grubby wannabe tough guys. We need to dominate them next year. I hope the cats murder them this weekend

Berry’s suspension was overturned. Of course.

Just what Lincoln McCarthy did on Friday night is enough to make me wanna see Geelong smash them. This successful Berry appeal just solidifies it.

Pendlebury needs to butt the Fuuuurg out !!!

!

A  guy went searching and found the eye, then proceeded to massage, in full view of live TV.

Sometimes I wonder why I bother with AFL. The league is a joke.

Perhaps because he's actually played AFL pal..and also  knows Clarrie is given to falling over and not being as tough in the clinches as he is in the contested packs

Besides which he wasn't actually gouged in the eye.

I have no idea who you are IRW, but that is one of the oddest posts I have ever seen on Demonland (and considering the wide field of "odd posts" that is quite a claim!). But I feel a Monty Python quote coming on, from the Holy Grail: "what a strange person".

Lol Love how this has turned out to be all Clarry's fault

Melbourne FC turning out to be yesterdays darling.

A year's a long time in footy hey

I will explain it to you then

Pendlebury's opinion is likely informed by his understanding of what actually happens on the AFL ground.

It is probably moderated by players generally wanting other players to get a finals game unless they are a thug  like Toby Greene.

It seems relatively  common that  Oliver falls over to milk frees outside of pack contests.

He's not soft  just a lousy actor.

And the charge wasn't eye gouging so the decision doesn't relate to that.

You don't have to like it but is it too hard for you to understand .

Your response wasn't odd   merely typically prejudiced and childish

So Oliver reddened his eye himself.  Give it a rest

Do you mean "Clarry is tough in the game, especially in contested packs, but he doesn't pretend to be a hard man when people hit him out of play or off the ball"?

Clarry goes as hard as anyone in field. No one should need to cop hits, or knocks or punches etc once the whistle has gone and you aren't expecting contact.

Expecting players to be braced and ready to absorb assault at any moment when on the field is ridiculous.

Clarry gets illegally held at every stoppage but only a couple of frees are awarded. Absolute scam.

Seeing the scragging going on at every single contest without anything from the umpires is one of the things that makes me question why I bother watching the sport

I'm not into conspiracy theories as a rule but I am beginning to believe there is a real dislike of Clayton from other players.  The last two years he didn't get near the MVP despite winning the AFLCA award in both years.  Blokes like Pendlebury come out and blacken his name with his "elbow into the throat" bs. Just seems like there is a bit more going on here.

Berry was always going to get off, especially when next game is a final.

Need something like, when he plays us next suspension. He will be our target along with Zorko and McCarthy.

It will be a grudge match when we meet them again.

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
