Keep in mind that we will be doing a Qualifying Final preview show next week so perhaps keep the questions related to the Brisbane game and player/tactics related.

Next week we'll preview our upcoming match against the Swans and the finals in general.

I think our game plan for our forward structure would be more structurally stable with a 2nd tall. If TMac is taken off the injury list in a week or two is he a realistic consideration for the finals campaign? 
 My heart says yes, my head says no (lack of match practice/ fitness).  I am not even sure if there is a pathway or even time to consider progressing him through the VFL. It may also be dependent on who we are playing. And, if he is selected, who does he replace? What are your thoughts?

Love to hear you guys wax lyrical about our efficiency going forward and how we turned 26 I50s into 13 goals in the first half. 

The age old unanswerable question; was that more about the opposition than us?

I think that is does say more about the Lions but, nevertheless, it was a great habit to get into to lead into space more and lower our eyes more and be more patient. 

They are obviously running in waves and fitness is very high. Utilising that, they gave it to that runner laterally a few times and they also kicked it better with less blazing away.

Like @rpfc, and without discrediting the performance of the boys (they’re building real nicely), I’d be grateful for your thoughts on the extent to which the result hinged on their poor performance or our top notch performance.  More specifically: did they try but fail to execute strategies that other team’s have used successfully against us, were we able to negate those strategies this time because of our improving fitness and/or counter-strategies, or did they simply not try some of those strategies such as moving the ball fast through the middle, 45 degree kicks, lowering the eyes, etc.?

My sense is that we shouldn’t get too carried away. Finals against Geelong, Sydney, Collingwood and Richmond will be much tougher than last Friday

My question: Salem’s late withdrawal gave Jake Bowey an opportunity to remind us what he can bring to the side. He’s a calm presence down back and has a great kick. 

Obviously Salem is best 22 but what does this mean for our lucky charm?

James Jordan only played 10 minutes but Telstra Tracker said he was our hardest working in attack for the match (obviously because he was fresh and could run hard).

This use of the sub isn't something we've really seen from Goody this year. Will we see more use of the "super sub" in September?

Of the 5 games I have seen live this year (Hawthorn, Fremantle, Geelong, Collingwood and Brisvegas), watching the first four matches, felt like most of our goals came from grinding and scrappy play. Not so Brisbane, was that your experience watching and if so, how do you make sense of that? (probably echos the question, Were we good, or were Brisbane not so good?)

I doubt it. When they (might have been Richo) were talking about Jackson coming off they mentioned that they despite taking him off being a precaution (calf tightness) they felt that it still fell within the rules of the medi sub.

To me that means that we are a team that plays by the rules with this sort of thing and I doubt we will see a super sub in September. Other clubs of course are a little bit loosey goosey with their interpretation of the rule.

I tend to agree, except we've had plenty of other weeks where we could have done a similar thing (a relatively low grade injury that the player has played the game out on reduced minutes). I thought the evidence of potential "impact" was worth a highlight. 

Maybe not worthy of the pod, unless we do it again in finals week 1!

To expand on this, it felt like we scored a lot from intercepts/ turnovers/ rebounds/ counter attack although I haven't seen that stat specifically.

In the tough fought games (including our losses) we definitely struggled to generate scores fullstop.

So are we too reliant on opposition mistakes (forced through our pressure, structure, zone etc or unforced?) without enough means of generating as scores ourselves?

Or (as we saw in the opening minute with Kossies goal) is it just about whether we are on?

MFCSS tells me that the ease with which we were able to win said  more about Brisbane’s ineptitude than our brilliance, but obviously, I hope I’m wrong.  However, wherever the ‘balance’ lies, a win like that must be a huge fillip for our confidence going into finals.

Wouldn't mind a bit of analysis around our clearance quality and forward structure/efficiency since we put Jacko in the middle more and Gawn forward. Not 100% sold yet on Gawn as a forward, although that's maybe due to the goal kicking more than anything else, but since Jacko has gone into the ruck it seems we've got back a bit of that 'Bang Bang Bang Bang'. Gus could be an influence in that too maybe given his clearance numbers? It's also possibly a preview to how we would setup next year should Grundy come across.

I'm am ashamed to admit that I had written off both the Pig and Milkshake and didn't think they'd feature at all this year but their performances this year, Pig since his return from injury and Melk in the past few weeks, have been exemplary.

I know that members of the esteemed panel have been critical of Melksham in the past, as I and many have been too, have your opinions changed?

Keen to hear you all discuss the Backline make up in this game, and moving forward.  Salem's withdrawal didn't seem to effect us all that much, with Rivers in particular playing with some noticeable dare and dash. Is assume Salem must come back in, so there will be a finals hard luck story in the backline again this year by the looks.
