Spargo had a quiet game but is a talisman for the side. I reckon when you see Spargo on the defensive 50, you know the boys are pressuring and we will win.

Melksham was quiet but still has a role. He will probably get squeezed out if TMAC reappears but the 5-6 weeks dropped to 2-3 weeks overnight so I wouldn't hold my breath.

There is no way that Melksham gets dropped before Spargo or ANB. 

Melksham had assists in many of our early goals, when the game was up for grabs. And he's shown that he's a better crumbing forward than Spargo.

Spargo the talisman? Based on what? Hardly touched the ball for about a month. And twice now in 2 weeks he's pulled out of contests. 

When the game was up for grabs. ANB was slow as he has been for weeks. Got into the game in the 2nd half once the game was over.

Spargo has played the last 48 or 49 games in a row. That's win, lose or draw. What makes him the talisman? Are you saying that when he plays well we win? I'm struggling with that given his performance in the last two games.

Ex Brisbane coached teams seem to have a penchant for that type of body contact.

No way do ANB, Melksham even Spargo get dropped.??? Replaced by who pray tell. Theyre all cut from the MFC cloth. Theyre part of the Goodwin team plan from defence to BBB. It won us a flag  ffs. Melksham looks good for September. He's hungry for his 1st flag  and can fight on and off the field...lol.

Only concern is Salem. If he's 100% fit he plays  otherwise Bowey. 

t/mac...  if we make it to the Big Dance anything is possible at the selection table but he'd have to rip into  them in the VFL first.We cant carry him in September. Melbourne is good to go!

Spargo & ANB are crucial cogs in the team balance. They aren't Petraccas or Oliver's. They are as better than the next option as Trac & Clarry are better than them. We take them out and we will be poorer for it

Firstly, as his last game was about 13 weeks ago, you may be correct about my memory. But I do remember he certainly wasn’t having a repeat of his early ‘21 season, which was sensational. (Was he dropped because of form this year?).
Secondly, I wasn’t questioning his ability, only his ability in such a short space of time to achieve the form required to break back into this team.

I’d luv a fit and firing TMac back in the side, but I just think it is a long shot this year.

ANB wasn't getting caught last year, or even the first half of this year. He's out of form, pure and simple. He works hard, but should be playing better.

Heard Leon Cameron praising ANB on radio yesterday without being prompted. His two way running is off the charts. He does the team things asked of him and you rarely notice this unless you are at the Match.

Fans need to stop looking at stat sheets to determine how well a bloke is playing. Zero chance he's getting dropped unless injured.

It's a bit like Star Trek: The Next Generation. In some ways it's superior, but will never be as recognised as the original.

I agree, stats are over-rated in football, you can have 40 possessions and waste half of them, it's what you do with them that counts, same as inside 50's.
