Swans need 27 more points if St Kilda doesn't score. 99-49 will do it.

Tx that....and obviously that 99 increases with every point saints do score.

Just slow down the pace Saints.

Think of us Dees fans and not yourselves.

Thank you Mr Steele.

Will they announce finals fixture tonight? Nothing on AFL app

Technically they can't confirm anything yet because St Kilda could theoretically still win and change the match ups entirely.

But I'd assume from here it will be:

  1. Thursday - Fremantle v Dogs
  2. Friday - Geelong v Collingwood
  3. Saturday afternoon - Brisbane v Richmond
  4. Saturday night - Melbourne v Sydney or Sydney v Melbourne

Keeps the breaks between the EF winners and QF losers close.

If Sydney manage to lose top 4 we have Pies first week. They have been incredibly lucky - beating sides outside top 8 by very small margins. I would like them first up. Go Saints

I think you’ve forgotten our recent history against the Pies

l don’t want to go anywhere near them in the finals

Yes.

But Sydney isn't about to do a Carlton. They aren't losing from here.

Hold my beer

Ripper goal from Jack Steele. Looks like we might get there in the end.

Margin back to 17 points...

Forget about the Sydney winning margin, St Kilda are not out of this game.

Correct.

If St Kilda kicks one goal, Sydney would need another 7 points on top of those 27.

Cost Swans 0.4 percent that goal

The more you think about it Collingwood didn't win that game Carlton lost it. That is going to hurt all summer.

St Kilda won't win this.

But that goal means Sydney now needs to score a minimum of 34 points from here to pass us, and that assumes St Kilda doesn't score again.

For every point St Kilda scores that 34-point target increases.

Yeah except Collingwood can't seem to lose at the moment. Plus we now have to put up with there feral supporters

I want nothing more than the chance to be present and witness Melbourne beat Collingwood in a final. Preferably a GF.

Each point advances them about 0.1 percent. They have 15 minutes to outscore Saints by 4 goals

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.

  • PODCAST: Gold Coast

I’ll be away for the next few weeks, so Binman will be holding the fort for our podcasts covering the Suns, Bombers and Lions matches. As a result, there will be no live podcasts during this period, and we won’t be taking calls or voicemails. Binman will still be dipping into this thread to select a few questions to answer, while also combining the long-form Stats Files podcast with the Demonland Podcast for these shows. Your questions and comments are a huge part of what makes the podcast work, so please post anything you’d like to ask or say below and we’ll do our best to give you a shout-out on the show. Please try to keep each post focused on one specific topic or player to make podcast preparation a little easier. If you have multiple topics you’d like to raise, please put them in separate posts.
