Would Rutten be a potential replacement for Yze?

maybe yesterdays comments by Goody was part of scenario planning by MFC as per speaking with Gundy.

Heady days for us! reigning premiers quietly working away in the background without in-fighting and leaks. Even the stuff the Warner was agitating with earlier in the year has been met with a collective and consistent response

I get the whole brotherhood of coaching. A sacked coach is quickly offered an assistant job at another club. But if we were to lose Yze I’d prefer to go after someone like Scott Pendlebury. Having said that I’ve got no idea if he’s interested in coaching.

Imagine if someone told you on that horrible afternoon in September 2000 that in 22 years Essendon would have no more flags, haven't won a final since 2004, club was destroyed with factional infighting due to a systemic doping program under coach James Hird, Bombers had just missed out on landing the best coach of the modern era since Sheedy to North and Melbourne were the reigning premiers!

Printing this post out and putting it on the fridge. Some things just make you happy

Hird's coaching record is 41 wins, 42 losses, 142 illegal injections and 10 years of football obscurity.

Sounds to me like he definitely should coach them again.

My Essendon mate literally said today that he has it in him to be an amazing coach and that he would love to have him back. They are literally brainwashed and delusional. Long may it continue.

Considering all the work Clarko has done with Tasmania over the past year setting the foundation for a new Tassie AFL team, this makes complete sense

I'd prefer Rutten to Hird any day of the week.

Clarko’s decision opens the door for shock Hird return

Alastair Clarkson has committed to North Melbourne - and his decision has left the door open for a sensational twist. Here’s the exclusive details.

Here’s the exclusive details?? Exclusive as no one else would run with baseless nonsense like this.
how about a retraction Robbo?!

Have to hand it to Clarko, he seems like one of few men of integrity left. Never said a bad word about the Hawks when he was sacked by them a week after them saying he would coach out his contract.

now he keeps his word to North. Some people in the media knew he wouldn’t leave them in the lurch just because a much bigger club came knocking at the last minute. He is clearly not in it for the fame and attention

I’m in two minds. I’m happy for North and it sticks it up the Bombers. But to be honest I wanted North to fold and a 18th team in Tasmania. This competition can’t and shouldn’t be forced to try and sustain a 19th or 20th team. This now keeps the Wolves from the door.

North was never relocating to Tassie. If they couldn't send them to the GC in 2007 they weren't relocating to Tassie now that they are debt free for the first time since the 80's and have almost 50k members.

I believe Pendles is playing on next year.

Congratulations North Melbourne you got your man and hopefully a better future for your club and thanks Bombers for your shameless behaviour throwing your coach under the bus. When will you learn that integrity, dignity and scruples are what appeal to prospective employees.!!!!!

Last night on 360, Jordy Lewis was asked whether Essendon would consider keeping Rutten on if Clarko declined

Answer - why would Rutten even consider staying after what’s happened? Essendons handling of this situation has been disgraceful

Good on Clarko, in no way would he go to bombers.  Even for his reputation, its easier to look good and easier by bringing up the bottom side, like Roo's did with us.  Whether they make finals within his contract is moot, he'll build a solid foundation and culture, as with appended with us.

As for Rutten, He can't stay on how he's been treated by a separate club.  The should do the right thing and pay him out, but not sack him.  They obviously enough don't have any faith in him.

Then why post something that no one would miss?

A summary would be nice, comments optional, rather than a link you can't read.

I don't subscribe to the Sun on principle.

You don't need to read the article, the punchline was in the headline.

I’m against a 19th club, if the AFL wasn’t a team in Tassie I’d rather another team fold.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
