Another poster has suggested we need someone who can stand up to Goodwin. I thought Darren Burgess made it very plain one of the great things about Goodwin is his preparedness to allow those working with him to have autonomy, with his full trust.

Yeah that poster would really know what goes on, some people have strange dreams, his are obviously delusional.

With Yze a potential senior coach after today or this weekend, I do wonder how much input the brainstrust have in the way we play. He was with Hawthorn and witnessed Clarko first hand.

Also with Choco a premiership coach too, there is a lot of intel there.

Yet we continually kick out to the left from kick ins, and forward line structure is below average.

Don't know if its just me, but I scratch my head.

Do they trust how they want to play and back themselves? Is Goodwin too stubborn to change?

I just don't understand with such a high level of experience that we don't change things up.

Anyway good luck to Yze if successful.

It really feels like we went away and did all this analysis of scores achieved and conceded from various positions on the ground and through various scenarios, identified the best outcomes, and have gone with the idea that things will only arrive out those statistical outcomes if we do it that way every single time.

We might have missed a trick in that it seemed to have opposition sides stumped last year, and a bit early this year, so maybe we should have mixed things up just so we can pull this plan A out when we really need it. Now that plan A has been analysed so much by opponents, it's not as effective anymore.

Having said that, our way of playing is hugely reliant on us applying pressure around the ball, and we have been extremely poor in that area this year. If we can somehow switch that on, all of a sudden teams will be inherently kicking the ball to the spots we want them kicking to, rather than having the time and space to cut through us and generate good deep entries. Our game will go from painfully boring to watch, back to the more exciting stuff we saw at times last year.

*sound of the bombers contacting Yze’s manager

he signed with the giants yet? If we don’t get Hird, or Ross Lyon, or Leigh Matthews, he is top of the list

How do we know that Yze wants to uproot all his family and move to Sydney and that Mcveigh isn't doing a good job, which I think he is.

He's agreed to terms, not 100% sure if he's actually 'signed' yet, but it's done.

*This isn't official info btw, just what I've heard

I'd say Essendon are munsoned out in the middle of no-where. Yze will coach the Giants and they will have to go the short-listing process. Diddums

I wouldn't wanting to be hanging around the western suburbs of Sydney, I think it is a s*it of a place, I was stationed at Holsworthy a few decades ago and it was bad enough then and from what I have seen it has gotten worse.

Apologies to anyone here who lives in that area but that is my opinion.

Sen reporting Yze is to coach GWS next year.

All the best to him, he's been great for us in his short time with Goodwin, I just hope he sees out the finals series.

MFC has already told GWS that he is required for finals

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
