Yeah seems a bit weird that one. Personally I think he would improve our best 22 as another link up player with good kicking skills and outside run, which we lack.

    Definitely think he'd help on paper. As long as we got his mind right the rest would follow, I started as a harder no but slightly more open if the deal is right.

    I see Mitchell fronting up at Hawthorn again. Unless Collingwood offer up 16 but can't really see it.

    I think Dazzle mentioned this earlier in the thread. Hawthorn are positioning themselves for early picks next year, but are going down the path we did, which was a disaster, where we shed all our experienced players. You can't expect a bunch of kids to lead the way immediately. You need some experience. If Mitchell and O'Meara go, they're in big trouble I reckon, on top of Gunston already out the door, and the spectre of the racism affair hanging over the club.

    Yes, it should lead to further disaster and one can only hope.

    I think they are showing him as damaged goods that needs a change in scenery but with 2 years left and his mental health issues are doing it delicately. Aside from Haw and ESS most clubs are run well.

    Yes, I compared them to the 2013 of Melbourne when we just gave away all our senior players.

    If O'Meara and Mitchell leave then I have them for the wooden spoon.

    Interesting isn't it. As Dees supporters who have lived through it (the kicking out of experience for youth) it will be interesting to see what happens at the Hawks.

    I would love them to stay down the bottom for a a long time but they always find a way to rise again.

    I think the Hawks will pry from their clammy grip to be honest.

    Ignoring the Clarko mess for a second - North are well ahead of the Hawks as they have already bottomed out, have the talent in the squad with high draft picks this year straight into the system.

    The Hawks are still 12 months from bottoming out to access that talent.  They won't start rising up until 2025 imo.

    They'll be VFL level like in 2023 & 2024 and my god it will be beautiful to watch!!

    It’s a disaster if you get it wrong. It’s the blueprint for premiership success if you get it right. 
     

    Every flag from the Swans 05 until Geelong 22 was won on the back of elite talent drafted with top picks.
     

    They’ll be cutting it thin on field but clearly there’s some faith in Newcombe, Worpel, Ward and Amon to carry the midfield. Mitchell’s already shown a belief in the likes of Moore, Nash, Impey, Day to run through the midfield too, he’s not burdened by a belief you need to dominate clearances to play good football with a rebuilding side.

    Off field is the bigger danger but the soft cap is coming back up, Box Hill is always solid and they must have faith Sam and the few senior players they’ll have left can handle the load.

    Destination clubs are effecting the balance.

    Management,  of the club lists and player renumeration need to be done better, so as to get fair compensation and teams high on the ladder shouldn't get a leg up.

    The clubs down the ladder may stay there for several season if the AFL allows the "poaching" of picks and players.

    Geelong have to be happy, as are us.

    North, Gold coast, wow!

    Agreed, but I think we'll see them struggle for a few years now. We can only hope.

    Yes, we do - but none of that is relevant when he has stated clearly, he wants to go to Geelong if he is going anywhere

    And yes, I do watch lots of games and many Collingwood games actually

      Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

      The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention.       It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
