Some of you people are just nasty. Purely and simply NASTY.

Scroll to the top of this thread. See the title? It’s the ‘Trade and Free Agency Rumours’ thread. Seems it’s becoming yet another thread that degenerates into a Melks bash-fest.

Why is it ok to insult Jake’s son?

And @A F… I’m not so much angry with you as I am disappointed. I really like your posts and almost always agree with you. But this? Really? You’re better than that.

And before anyone rolls out the tired old ‘if you don’t like it then don’t read it’ crap, I opened a thread that’s titled ‘Trade and Free Agency Rumours’ and I understandably expected exactly that. How about ‘if it’s nasty and mean spirited about ONE OF OUR OWN, don’t [censored] post it!’

Haha, mate, come on. If you can't see that I was being heavily sarcastic, I can't help you.

I wasn't in the room at Rye reporting what they said, I was poking fun at the ridiculous notion that Goodwin's friendship with Melksham had him extended for 2023...

I didn't think it was a particularly nasty jab at those suggesting Melksham was extended due to his supposed friendship with Goodwin. More humorously sarcastic.

I don't think I could have been more obviously sarcastic, but apparently a few think I have very good connections in the FD, so much so that they'd let me report that list management meeting from Rye.

makes it kinda baffling that they are so into dunkley as well. even with robinson and zorko at the end of their careers they still have alot of midfielders including many 3/4yrs who've barely had any exposure

they're well into grif logue for this reason and he's better than tommo. ur not getting a second rounder for tommo unless its something like our second rounder for theirs and its a slide up rather than a flat pick. even lewis melican or alex keath or recently delisted hartigan probably has more trade likeliness than tommo.

I'm not saying I want Tomo to go. I thought he was playing great football prior to doing his ACL. Freo are apparently not willing to let Logue go if Lobb leaves. Keath is the Bulldogs best beckman so he wouldn't leave either and now there is word that Walker of North is looking at other options so that leaves the door open to North needing 2 quality key backman.

How am I to know you were being sarcastic, when I’ve read so many similar (and similarly ridiculous) sentiments, ie. Melksy only gets a game coz he and Goody are mates. And these comments are actually serious! Why is yours any different???

And @dazzledavey36 you can FacePalm all you like, but you’ve had it in for Melksham since (at the very least) I’ve been here. Probs since he first came to us. You all need to quit the personal attacks. Seriously.

You have to laugh at the way posters tie themselves up in knots about Brodie Grundy.

"He's injury prone and fragile".  (Facts show that he been remarkably durable with the exception of this year)

"Yeah but his last two years were poor"  (Facts show he finished top ten in the B & F in both years)

"Yeah but those B & F placings mean nothing"  (Facts show they are a great indication of performance)

Which rabbit hole will the critics go down next, I wonder?

And just for the record, I'm 50/50 on the merits of trading for Grundy.  I trust our Club to make the best decision.

More concerned about his haircut!

In seriousness though i am 50/50 also....really depends on how Goodwin is planning on using both our rucks.   The could be weapons or liabilities depending on how they are used.  Simon actually worries me more than anything when it comes to adjusting plans.  Rarely seems to be able to do it within a season, let alone within a game

You've completely overblown this.

There has been absolutely no personal attacks on Melksham in any form on this thread.

It's been a pretty measured discussion from a football contract perspective and everyone has added solid discussion regarding futures of Melk and Hibberd.

I've been really careful with my discussion on here regarding Melk because we're discussion people's future so I've tried to be respectful and on topic with this thread, which is a trade and free agency discussion am I not right?

How you saw @A F thread as a personal insult to Melksham really is confusing because if anything I took it as a sarcastic little dig at me which is totally fine and I did see the funny side in it.

What's the point of having a football board if can't even have the discussion on point?

Just the SA media nothing of note yet, they would have to offer some insane overs given he still has a year left and we would want him for next year even if we knew he was gone post 2023

Whatever. I’m done. Clearly nothing’s gonna change. Sad really, he’s such a nice person and certainly doesn’t deserve to be personally bagged. Nor does his “pesky” kid.

So much for winning a premiership makes you a destination club.

I fear Kozzie has the go home factor as well. (Just our luck)

That would be ****full Jim.

Kozzie is one of those players that draws people to the game in the hope of seeing a magical moment.

If we lose kozzie our forward line would have as much X factor as Zac Dawson.

We'll put up some soccer score lines next year

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
