Caro is like a bottle of A2 milk from 2010, it went rotten a decade ago.

Summed it up perfectly. I caught her interview with Kate Rothey on the radio before QB game. She tried to trip her up with " tough" questions on the leaked texts and May incident. Kate swatted her questions away like flies. It was embarrassing for Caro

But… but… but, it was Essendon.
Hashtag nothing’s off limits when it comes to those mouth-breathing bottom-feeders.

What really IS disgusting is that only HALF our cheer squad booed them off.
What were the other half doing???? 🤨

Pretty sure we booed the Bombers fans quite a bit this year too, mostly because they spent the whole game booing every umpiring decision.

it was kinda funny on Monday when all their supporters cheered for that smarmy little sh*t Ginnivan when his mug showed up on the screen at the start of the game, and our mob started booing the pies supporters for being knobs 😂

separate and related question… when we came out onto the ground, I was in the middle of M3, but I felt like there was background noise.. did the toothless ones boo us then?

They most certainly did.
And there was an abundance of they of the missing teeth to the immediate left and right of M3. They were many and they were loud. And they did that stupid “USA” chant.

I don’t know again if I’m being biased, but I think that a little different. I’m not saying it’s good, and the fans shouldn’t have done that, but booing a fantastic player who’s being singled out for being fantastic seems particularly vindictive.

They also boo’d him during the game because he pushed one of their players off our guys and then got shoved hard for it. Oliver isn’t liked by any oppo fans though, admired as a player but he gets regularly boo’d for no good reason.

The only people who boo Oliver are morons.
Problem was the "G" was full of morons on monday.

Maybe I’ve got rose tinted glasses but I can’t see the Melbourne fans booing a player for being named BOG. Oliver was an absolute freak on Monday, similar to Max the other week he alone almost dragged us over.

Pies fans really are a special breed of filth.

I actually had a nuftie Collingwood supporter try to convince me on social media that it was actually Melbourne fans booing Oliver.  WTF???

But you're right, they are a special breed of filth.

I don't boo at the football.  I choose not to lower myself to nuftie level. And yes, I'm a member of the cheer squad.  We're better than those idiots.

Again, it’s Essendon. E-S-S-E-N-D-O-N. All manner of etiquette flies out the window when it’s them. 😁

And besides, when the opposition are lining up for a set shot at the other end of the ground, our main cheer guys boo them like there’s no tomoz. And if it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for this lil nuftie. 😉

I don't care who it is.  We show them we're better than them by not lowering to their standards.  I don't boo at the football.  And no, the cheer squad don't boo when they're lining up for a goal, we make noises and wave flags and floggers to try to distract.

It's often struck me that all cheer squads just wave randomly which I suspect is easier for the player kicking to ignore.  If all the flags etc were still and suddenly moved in a coordinated way just before the player lowered their eyes to kick the ball I suspect it would have more effect.

Yeah, when it’s up our end we defs wave banners and flags etc. to distract an opposition player taking his set shot.  But when it’s up the other end, ie, the goals behind which we are not, we don’t distract coz why would we when we’re at the other end of the ground, and said player has his back to us? It’s in this scenario that 100% there’s booing coming from our cheer squad. Granted, not everyone. But every single time, the four guys who lead the cheer definitely boo. They sit in the second row and I sit in the third. So either they boo, or I need to get a hearing check. 😆

You don’t boo, and that’s fine. That’s your prerogative. Likewise with those who do boo. It’s their choice. And like it or not, there’s booing from our cheer squad every single match. 😊

I asked an OG flogger about this just the other day. Apparently they used to employ this tactic. Especially with the large floggers, where they’d wave them side to side in a sort of figure 8 fashion. Just as the player lowered his eyes they’d immediately start waving them up and down. They don’t do this now since they came to the conclusion that it doesn’t make a difference.

As for the huge flags, just to wave them without taking anyone’s eye out is plenty. 😁

Thanks.  Re the figure of 8,  I suspect that sudden movement after total stillness might be more distracting than just changing the direction of movement.

Yeah, they know what they’re doing. They’ve been doing it for an eternity. And clearly doing it very well since (I was told on Monday) the Demon Army have won Best AFL Cheer Squad four out of the last five years. ❤️💙

I do have a bottle of Robbie Flower Port, that is probably undrinkable now, after so many years adorning the bar.

I also have the same as well as a Shane  Woewodin from 2000.

I also have both, i was going to crack them during the GF, but i was warned not to!!!!

Go to Aldi,  get a bottle of Keepers Port about $5   open them all and do a taste test.  If the top is still tight on the Melbourne bottles they will be fine, but an interesting test,   something to do over the weekend.

No she didn’t and obviously won’t.

She is also still harping on about the May and Melksham incident, like a dog with a bone.

So no brown eyes as the oppo is lining up in front of goal then?

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
