Ginnivan paid a free for the same thing Spaz got called holding the ball last night. Corrupt or incompetent?

Hang on, isn't the comp run by the AFL?

The Shockers are the real thing. They could well be top 4 later in the year.

I love Sports Bars in Asia. :)

The umpires were right onto Weightman's tactics to milk frees and didn't pay him a couple.

Today the umpires were right onto Ginnivan who also missed out on a few = some which were really there.

Good to see them coming down on it especially young kids who make a habit of it.

I see on the AFL website McCrae is going to get clarification around ginnivan. So guess what will get paid next week

I’m talking finals. It means little right now

Every now and again a footballer comes along who lights up the competition, Michael Frederick is that sort of player, usually they don't burn for long, but they are so enjoyable to watch

Drop kick, drop punt? Careful you dont mix them up commentators! Oops! Long silence from the others…

Freo appealing for HTB against Bailey while he spins around and kicks a goal

lol

grabbing the jumper isn't a tackle

Freo peaking too early, not possible to sustain this level until last week in September

Ah, yes it is. If a player has the ball and you hold the jumper, and he does nothing to release it - it is holding the ball.

Holding the jumper without tackling while the player stands easily? not HTB

Sorry, but it is. Just as holding a jumper when a player has not got the ball is holding the man, holding a jumper of a player with the ball and the player does not dispose of it = holding the ball. Always was, always has been.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
