Take Mundy’s games out of Freo total and the remaining 21 have an average of 50

Eight players less than 30 games

I spent a bit of time over west in the past few weeks. My first post Covid trip. They're a weird mob over there, to be sure.

I was chatting last Sat morning with the lady that ran the local cafe, out the side of a caravan parked near the beach, she had her Freo jumper on ready to go to the game. I said the Pies travel ok you know. She replied that her 11 yo daughter had told her that Freo were no good in the wet, as we knocked back a coffee watching a sea of storm clouds roll in. Mum, they need to turn the sprinklers on at training, she had apparently said that very morning. My response (after immediately txting a few mates back east to get onto Collingwood) was to tell her don't worry, you've got Melbourne next week!

The look of utter despondence on her face......priceless.

Go Dees by 25.

Demonland early birds or late night insomniacs? Caught the last rites of last evening’s SCG clash on AFL online. Back on home soil to get the big picture. Maintain the rage Demons let the winning run continue.

We have Fremantle today and the Swans next week.

What happened last time that the Demons played that combination in consecutive games?

Since Cairns we have 32 wins, 1 draw, 4 losses and a premiership!

I see Freo as a bunch of B graders playing an A grade system. They will be hard to beat, but we should prevail on talent so long as we bring the required intensity.

Excited to see us put another team of pretenders to the sword. Had a quick word to the big fella this morning and he tells me it's "...in the bag!"

Off to bed and get rested to watch the Dees while I have my granola and coffee in the morning. Nite all.

Sweet dreams of a Dees win. Then wake up to the real thing! ❤️💙

In town again for the real thing. Start at the cricketers arms, gotta finish somewhere I guess

I'm catching a supporters bus up from the coast. In two minds to take my 6yo, leave at 1.45 - home by 10.30. Big day and I don't know who'll be more emotional! 😀

TAKE YOUR 6yo!!!! These lil Dees are the future! ❤️💙

Let’s all wish Melksy the very best for his 200th!!! Let’s give him the love he deserves! Make some noise for him!

PS: y’all don’t forget to check out the awesome banner today. I broke a fingernail making that thing! And sacrificed a substantial amount of hair since: sticky tape + long hair + static electricity = hair loss. 🤣

Edit: just don’t look too closely. I may or may not have cut a lil chunk outta the K in Melksham. 😬

Nice work WCW

what happens to banners after they are used?

have a feeling this one might end up at your house? Imagine having it in your driveway and driving through it everyday 😂

I see today going this way:

freo bring manic pressure and two way running, which we match.

they break first

we come home over the top for a reasonable win.

the game wont be won by the stars, but by the system and skills.  Our pressure will eventually be too much.

Big call mate. I have a 6yo too

If you get your first ‘are we there yet’ at 2:05 you’re in for a long one!

chips for the kid and beers for you should get you through

Hopefully we can get a decent crowd, a lot of talk going around that we’re not turning up to games and our lack of support is pathetic supporters coming after a premiership

Interesting stat! Very young talented team

they will be a force in 2 years or so especially if they trade a couple of players in

A few beers pre game at The Duke with some Demon buddies, stroll down to the G and have another beer in the Betty Cuthbert bar, then sit down to watch another Dees win.

Jeez, I love autumn footy at the G

It should be a genuinely good contest and I expect it to be very close all day.
Langdon is a massive out for us.
Hopefully the home ground advantage and our ability to never move away from our game style will help us win.
If we do win, Bowey is tied for all time wins from debut.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

It was bad enough that the Melbourne Football Club created yet another humiliating scenario inside its wretched season at Marvel Stadium last Sunday, but the final insult is that it has been commanded to return to the scene of the crime to inflict further punishment on its fans this week. Incidentally, if this match preview, of a game that promises to be one of the most unattractive fixtures in the history of the game, happens to cut out of your computer screen three quarters of the way through, it’s no coincidence. I’ll be mirroring the Demons’ lacklustre effort against St Kilda from last Sunday when they conceded the largest last quarter turnaround for victory in the history of the game.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

  • PREGAME: West Coast

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.
