Pathetic. Embarrassing. No excuses. We won’t gain respect as a club, when 20k turn up to support our top of the ladder team.

The snow jokes and fair weathered supporter banter will be out in force :- and is deserved.

The average Away crowd for GWS games in 2021 was 21,505 so tonight was about par

However, given we've just won a premiership and on top of the ladder i would've expected at least 30,000 (+/- a few thousand) tonight so yeah it was a very disappointing turnout

On the crowd: yep, barely 20k sucks. But it is Easter, which doesn’t help. I also reckon that our supporters just generally aren’t used to night games. We’ve barely had them in the last 20 years. For some, I suspect the routine of football feels better in the day but doesn’t suit at night.

And let’s not forget the pandemic and school holidays. probably everyone’s last chance to enjoy some warm weather and get away before winter sets in.

At some stages tonight we looked like the Harlem Globetrotters. Maybe they should play Sweet Georgia Brown over the speakers as the side runs out.

We made the GWS ferrari look like a clapped out trabbie.

Which is what this gaumless entity with zero gravitas and questionable history and brevity actually... Are Greater Western Shizens

No worries. If that’s what we stand for as a club, then so be it :- we will never be a dominant club unfortunately

Really could rename the second quarter Steven May vs the umpires, some diabolical calls in there.

In all seriousness, great to finally put a team to the sword, the efficiency going forward was phenomenal.

Steven May is a veritable wall in defence, looked at his best tonight!

Was on a mission to decommission the opposition!

Seen a few outstanding games by May now but that would have to be very close to the top 5 i reckon.  He gave them absolutely nothing tonight.

I’m not sure how to process the crowd numbers

we have heaps of footy club members and four of our family went tonight (yesterday)  - plenty of our family are off on a post-Covid (I don’t really mean that) holiday so probably some who would normally be there are using Easter as a getaway pass

the procedure for getting tickets is a bit painful I’s gots to say

Great post on goodwin.

Ross lyon stated before gf last year that goodys boundary line coaching could cosy us a win.

Ross Lyon is nothing if not a moron. The way he drawled about Craig Hutchison was pure bogan trash . "He as is podcasts but does-a-neven manatise it"

Was paying attention to the GWS connections across the ground tonight at the game.

We make sure there is a contest and and support at a rate that I don’t think I’ve seen before or rarely. We make sure there is a contest and support like 90% of the time outside of our own forward 50.

It’s unreal to watch. Our backline acts in almost complete unison. Every player knows what the other is going to do.

I went with my father who’s been a dees supporter since the 60’s, he couldn’t believe what he was seeing.

Moments I’ll treasure is watching the way we play live and just giving each other a wry smile. No words needed.

We are incredible.

Pull your head in. You have made your point. These are the footy times of our lives. If you want to ram half a doz posts down everyones throat, in a post match thread,  with diatribe about the club, well thats not only draining but annoying. Once and you made your point.

We are not a powerhouse club. When you don’t win a GF for almost 60 years, what do you expect?

It will take some sustained success to get us where we belong. Not going to change overnight, but it is changing that I can guarantee you.

Shout out to Jack Viney. I've noticed his kicking is much improved. Clearly put a tonne of work into it and it's showing. Good job Jack.

And clean.
Played well tonight and as usual alot of his work goes unnoticed.

It's great seeing teams with the ball at half back and just having nothing to go to, its happened 3 games in a row now. They have nothing, our defense is like a vice.

He is such a clever player as well which I think gets overlooked sometimes. Some of his little tap ons tonight we're superb.

Yeah exactly, other teams have to work so hard just to get it into their fifty… and when they do, our backline is able to absorb the pressure. The field kicking out of the backline is sublime too

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

It's Game Day and the Dees are deep in the heart of enemy territory as they take on the Lions in Brisbane under the Friday Night Lights at the Gabba. Will the Demon finally be awakened and the season get back on track or will they meekly be sacrificed like lambs to the slaughter?

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last
