IMO he has played well at Casey this year, attacks the ball well, good size, decent hands and goal sense. Could be worth a rookie spot.

100% is, only 17 and playing well at casey

You are correct dc we should have kept a spot for him on the Rookie List last year.

Can we take him as a father son this year?

yep, same way swans listed indi kirk and freo listed jaren carr after their draft years

Noah Yze won the VAFA Round 2 Rising Star award for his recent five goal performance with Old Melburnians.

He’s playing in a trial game involving one of the Under 18 squads and a team of prospects for the upcoming midseason draft. At this stage, Melbourne has no vacancies for that draft and is unlikely to participate.

#18 Noah Yze (Casey Demons)
Forward/Wing | 191cm | 12/04/2006

Having been overlooked by Melbourne as a father-son candidate last year, the son of Adem is staking his claim right under the Demons’ noses at Casey. He got on the board early with an impressive long-range set shot and often used his big frame to absorb pressure or contact. Yze showcased a strong set of hands in some instances but also spilled a few straightforward marks as he roamed up the ground. He ended up slotting another set shot goal to level the scores in the third quarter to make up for his previous skill errors, and was among the Young Guns’ best.

it’s gonna suck if he gets picked up in the mid season draft while we don’t have a list spot, I really hope we can rookie him at years end.

He trained with us in the preseason didn't he but we decided not to take him?

We decided not to list him but he was persuaded to sign on for the Casey Demons where he played a couple of games. He also played in the Amateurs and was nominated for one of their Rising Star awards. He's a chance to be drafted tomorrow and obviously, we will miss out if that happens.

As an avid Casey watcher surprised how many Casey VFL listed players have nominated for the Mid -Season Rookie Draft.

Riley Baldi

Riley Bonner

Lachlan Byrce

Jesse Craven

Paddy Cross

Oliver Green

Mitch Hardie

Mitchell Kirkwood-Scott

Caleb Lewis

Kobe Shipp

Kai Windsor

Noah Yze

The Dirty Dozen; continuity could be an issue for many. Riley Baldi, Riley Bonner and Mitch Hardie have the advantage of that plus have a number of decent performances. Paddy Cross and Lachlan Bryce possible smokies sometime in the future. Noah Yze in racing parlance is an outside chance, perhaps the Tiggers recruiting people will rate his outstanding performance in the amateurs.

I'd be surprised if the Tigers take home. Don't think the link to Adam would look very good.

The Suns are the nepo babies of the comp.

RBG you're suggesting a Gold Coast fairy tale ending? Love a verbal stoush. 'Aints are shaking the can meanwhile Suns are blessed with providence and abundance.

Noah was not selected last night. Which really is a bit of a relief.

Not to him I suspect. 😉

Noah Yze was among the best players for Oakleigh Chargers in their win on Friday evening against the Sandringham Dragons. Here’s the report from Rookie Me Central (note the comment on his disposal which might explain what he has to do with his game to be drafted)

The last sentence of this reports suggests if he gets selected by us he'll fit in just fine.....

Yep. Odd, but yes we can.
