For selfish reasons, I only hope it doesn't have to be consecutive years!

I've clocked about 15 years overall, including some of the very worst years, but have a gap because a bunch of those things that happen, happened.

Personally, I think being a continuous member from 2007-2017 should also count for additional rewards. Like, a sympathetic hug from a player or a free 20-minute session in a sound proof padded room.

But, seriously, I think anything that recognises the deep durability of some members is a good idea.

Did anyone receive the email a bajillion times or was that just me?

I got a separate email for each member of the family even though we manage them all together. Is it possibly that?

And yeah, more off field goals for the club with this, really nailing it.

We have 17 memberships in the extended family but I received it over 30 times

That's a lot of recognition...

Yeah I got maybe 6.

Entered every one of them in a desperate and greedy grab at the free stuff.

Haha, I'm with you LG. Membership years between 2007 and 2017 should be like dog years

I've clocked up 37 years, I didn't get an email

Seen nothing yet but did get the AFLW Prelim at the G one twice.

This morning I got an SMS from the club saying the email address on my membership account is invalid, and to reply with an up to date email.

But last night I received the team selection email and also the AFLW finals one twice.

Just to be sure, I logged on to my MFC Membership account and the email appears to be correct.

Not sure if there are issues from the club's end with this.

I have just sent an email off to membership advising of this oversight so will wait for response.!!

Same same

We are 30+ year members (Mr and Mrs) and have not yet received an email but know that it will come.

Rather than an afternoon tea with other old fuddie duddie members, we would prefer to attend a couple of training sessions where we could meet and talk casually and informally to the players like when they held open training sessions in mid season. I recall one at Prahran and another in East Malvern.

Preferable to a phone call or an online video call that puts unnecessary pressure on the players and coaches. They were fun and the kids (grandkids) could run around and meet the players. Jack Watts was a favourite.

In any event, success is it's own reward for long term supporters like us and, personally, we want and need no more.

GO GOODY GO DEES

A lot of duplicate emails for some, but none for me :-(

(18 years consecutive)

I think for some/many of those years, certain years should be converted to 5. Or 10 more years (hello, Neeld 'era') because it certainly felt like 10 at times. It took some herculean type efforts to not obliterate the membership at times.

None for me and I'm 15+ as MCC/MFC - wonder if that category doesn't count?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

  • POSTGAME: Richmond

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
