Any game decided by less than a goal is worth watching. That was so exciting!

Would have preferred an Adelaide win

Yeah Freo could easily be 4-0 with their draw.

Umpires tried hard but well done Freo.

Freo’s Jordan Clark kicked a super goal in Q2 which he started from halfback, followed up and finished beautifully.   Hope he goes well and the Cats rue not playing him last year which may have precipitated his exit.

Great away win by Freo.   They have quite a bit of talent at Cockburn.  A few early season injuries to negotiate but a 2022 improver for sure.

At least this has been a good round with evenly matched sides going up against each other.
Essendon aside, highest winning margin is ours at 26 points so far.

GC$ over WCE could give it a push.

Inane comments and a truly grating voice.  Can anyone cite any positives?

She’s not BT

Don't know why but I am interested for the eagles and suns game. With the eagle injury list one would think that the suns should win but how often do we see a developing side play against an undermanned home side and still come up short.

I presume the sparse crowd is due to covid restrictions

Gold Coast will never ever have a better opportunity to win interstate than tonight.

Dunno Jaded. I'll never quite erase the Balme to Neeld years. The Balme years are actually underrated in my view for their absolute awfulness.

1994 ??

Kennedy gives away a free. Swears. No 50.
Kennedy gets out marked and encroaches on the mark. No 50.
Umpiring going beautifully as per usual.

If suns can’t beat this eagles side they might as well hand the keys to Clarkson tomorrow

Stadium has 50% limit there, besides WC has heaps of fair weather supporters

Blimey nic nat looks unfit. Must be at least 10kg overweight

Suns skill level horrible. Hard yakka when every disposal puts your team mate under the pump. Weagles will win this with half their firsts missing because they seem to be much better drilled.

Umps paying free kicks against the Eagles. How novel

I’m not watching WC v GC but quickly looked at stats on afl.com.  They credit GC with 13 scoring shots from 19 inside 50s for 4.3.  Is that a mistake or have they kicked 6 OOB?

He’s elite at the buffet stats, that’s for sure.

Just got home and switched on the box to find GC are getting pantsed by WC reserves. As a sporting non entity they'd be up there with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the NFL.

Gee Jayden Stephenson is a liability.

I have actually found the game entertaining but these two teams are bottom 4 for sure. Sullied by the incredibly poor skill level and Hawthorn winning.

Along with Polec, an absolute dud on good coin. I feel for Norf . . . we were them not so long ago. Taking the crumbs off the table.

Almost Mick Nolan like!

If these 2 teams win more than 10 games between them this season I would be shocked.

Norf will win more games than Whorethorn IMHO. There are some good young players on their list. Not so many down at Gold Taps Grove,.

  • Thank You Simon Goodwin

As Demon fans, we’ve ridden a rollercoaster of emotions over the decades; the heartbreaks, the near misses, the wooden spoons, and the endless waiting. But through it all, we clung to hope. And then came Simon Goodwin. Before he ever wore red and blue, he was a champion in his own right. A five-time All-Australian, two-time Best and Fairest, and two-time premiership hero and Captain with Adelaide, Simon Goodwin was always destined to lead. When he transitioned from the field to the coach's box, first as an assistant at Essendon, he began shaping a new legacy.

  • PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

Long ago and far away, the Melbourne Football Club replaced its coach in difficult circumstances after the team suffered a devastating loss. In the aftermath, I penned the following words: “Then came the politics, the intrigue, the axing, the sound of the football world laughing at a club, the circling of the media vultures, the reinvention of history, the anger, the irony, the pathos, the hurt on the face of the president, the dignified departure of the coach, and the determination of the newly appointed caretaker.” Today, we’re back in the same place although one difference here is that the coach who was terminated this time is Simon Goodwin, the man who four years ago

  • REPORT: West Coast

The Charles Dickens novel, A Tale of Two Cities, opens with, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, …”  This phrase highlights many of the significant challenges that humanity encounters in life, ranging from experiencing remarkable highs to living in times of despair. This is a concept that should resonate with all supporters of the Melbourne Football Club this morning as they reflect on its comprehensive 83-point victory over the struggling West Coast Eagles at Marvel Stadium. The outcome proved beyond doubt that they are the worst of clubs and that we are the best of the worst.
