Legit I'd be embarrassed if Weightman or Hunter played for us.

Being beaten on every stat now..

need to get one or two more before half time and then see what the second half brings

Is Salem back on the ground

Subbed

Has the standing rule just disappeared?

So many Dogs players sook for frees constantly.

Smith playing well

Another season. Another umpiring debacle. Absolute joke. Umpire 32 needs to take a hike.

Worried about Salem, he looked pretty upset on the bench with his left knee on ice.

I hate the rule, but so many times already tonight I’ve seen the dogs players jumping around and moving on the mark and yet no free?! Have I just missed a change or are the umpires just helping them out?

Great to see Neale here.

Well we got back in it. Just got to tweak a few things.

It would be nice to see a grand final 2nd half performance

Tough going that quarter. Hope Salem isn't too bad, looking like the walking sounded and it's only Rd 1.

Need to get a few clearances, they are putting us to the sword every time they clear it.

The AFL can’t seriously expect players not to complain when they’ve made the game so confusing to interpret, and then on top of that start the season being so consistently reactive to ‘new interpretations’.

Ive watched footy for almost 40 years and I’m so confused.

Jackson is still rusty. Bedford as sub is a tactical error considering we went in on be back short.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
