Couldn't help feel a bit sad for the whole saga when i saw how happy Dogga was when we won on Saturday night, you cant question his buy in, it just seems a shame that this is happening.

He seems pretty invested imo.

I genuinely think he hasn't made up his mind and is leaving all the contract talks until the season is finished.

I'd be disappointed if he left, but would understand wholeheartedly as well. We'll get compensated well, but it's still a big loss.

Thought he was good on the weekend. Took some good clunks and was unlucky not to hit the scoreboard.

Whether we like it or not and bias aside, it is a massive thing to have on your shoulders right now. It has to be extremely tough for him at the minute.

Some of those marks came at very important times.

Yes, he did play well on the weekend, and clearly his best game since the Brisbane win.

Full credit to him. Hopefully he'll play career best footy  in the next 5 weeks.

For a guy who has supposedly already signed a deal with Freo, he seems pretty invested. Was braving the wet at Casey to watch the VFL boys play, has been posting pics of the win on his Insta... I don't know, something doesn't add up.

He could possibly have just 2 games left with the MFC, but he isn't acting like someone who has already checked out.

I'd happily lose Jackson if it makes us more likely to win another flag or 2 in the near future.

It's all about the flags and nothing else.

I feel sorry for you.

Fine, but do you know how much money his manager stands to make from this?

People keep going on about camaraderie, team spirit, personal enjoyment & fulfillment and other airy-fairy things.

God help us (make lots of money).

Why?

I'm cool with it.

And I mean a Jackson trade would be all about what it will mean to our flag push. I'd only be getting worked up if we were losing him for nothing.

I'm with faulty on this issue.  Each year there is one winner and 17 also-rans.

Winning premierships is the ultimate measure of real success.  We're not here to [censored] spiders.

Why's that WCW? Yes we shouldn't forget the contributions that players have made but is it unreasonable to put the club first above any emotional attachments and continue with our desire to win?

He said, “it’s all about the flags and nothing else”

I feel sorry for someone who rates a flag as the only “something” to be satisfied with and who doesn’t rate anything short of that.
My comment has nothing even remotely close to the Dogga issue. Nor is it an emotion-based comment.
I genuinely feel sorry for any Dees fan who has the “Flag or Bust” mentality.

Again, this has NOTHING to do with players.
And again, I feel sorry for fans who have the “Flag or Bust” mentality.
That’s all this is.

Yeah for sure, you don't want the bar of success and happiness that high. I will still see this an an enjoyable season if we don't win it.

Sometimes absolute phrases aren't meant to be absolute. Not putting words in anyone's mouth but it does happen.

Geez you’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t!

Too many times ppl misquote or misinterpret or read between the lines of other people’s comments. And they’re taken to task for it.

So I quote him verbatim, and with zero ambiguity and I’m likewise having to explain.
He said “it’s all about flags and nothing else” which I took to mean it’s all about flags and nothing else, ergo I feel sorry for him.

I've just phoned the club and asked if the boys could wear the redback jumper this week in a gesture of support.

One would assume that @Webber might have something to say about this.

Yes he did play well, all game, and its good to see at least a few posters here recognise it. He is still just 20. If he goes, it will be a huge loss, make no mistake - especially with a no 1 ruckman much closer to the end than the beginning. The club well understands  this.

One would assume that. Unless told otherwise, perhaps [censored] spiders may be the best way to recover from not winning the flag…

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
