Things to do in the two weeks until the grand final

Recommended Posts

A lot of wandering around the house, humming to myself, in some happy trance like state.

A few shots of Gelnfiddich 18 or Dalmore. Then the occasional glass of Bobbie Burns shiraz (2018 a very good year)

Lots of checking the calendar to see if we are closer to the day.

Noticing all the demons supporters colours in cars, on fences, hanging out of windows all over Bendigo (surprised how many have come out of the woodwork)

Reading Demonland, and glowing in all the smug carp we are typing, because it usually some Essendon, Tigers, Cats or Hawks twit doing it us.

Watching the Prelim Final 3rd quarter over and over and over (twice already today)

I’m going to do something I promised I’d do if we made it. I’m going to watch the 2000 grand final for the first time. Just to remind myself how hard it will be if we lose and how important it is not to do it again.

What are other people going to do?

Not watching the 2000 Grand Final - being there was enough for me

You remember that like it happened yesterday. But if you’re anything like me you forget what you went into the kitchen for… several times a day, right?

I suppose at some stage I am going to apologise to Toodles, the family cat, for generally getting in his grill and making obscene one fingered hand gestures in his general direction during the game.

(The arrogant smug mug slept through it).

Unfortunately I can't do much got a 2 week lockdown due to work being a tier 1 site. Watch the Storm play another love hopefully we will get the double. Watch the 2 finals non stop maybe watch a movie in between. Love this club hopefully my dreams will come true. Will never watch the 2000 Grand Final too many bad memories.

Get a hammer and smash myself in the head for two hours as it would be more enjoyable than watching the 2000 GF

The Packers start their NFL season early on Monday morning and Rangers begin their Europa League campaign early on Friday morning. Otherwise I'll be working from home and landscaping the western side of the house.

The move of “Disco” to a key forward post looks like bearing fruit. Turner has good hands, moves well and appears to be learning the forward craft well. Will be an interesting watch in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #13 Clayton Oliver

Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury. LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres
