Watched the game alone which is a little sad but nice to know you guys and girls are all along with the ride.

if you haven’t realised already, this is our time. Sit back relax and enjoy!

Is that a wa thing to do that at events? I went to see queen in concert there last year & they did the wave to which I found a bit odd

Definitely is a thing. I went to an international rules game at the old Subiaco Oval and as soon as we got on top the wave started.

No clue who's starting it but damn he clearly gets around to the big events

How does one come down after a win like that?

Lying in bed at 12.30 am, reading the posts, and icing my right ankle. Grade 1 sprain jumping for joy in front of the TV after Gawn's snap out of the ruck. Like Steven May, I should be right for the GF thanks to the bye week.

So many thoughts. Other old timers on Demonland will understand. I was drawn to follow this Club as a teenager by the brilliance, loyalty and humility of Robbie Flower. There have been long dark periods with only occasional flickers of hope since. But nothing, absolutely nothing like this. Doesn't matter what happens in the GF, I am just so proud of this team. And when I dare to dream, I see Gawny holding the Premiership Cup with the team, and I'm sure that I see others in the background: Robbie, Jimmy, Sean and all the supporters who couldn't live to see it.

But there's one more game, one more challenge against another very good side. A challenge that this team will embrace (as Goodwin so calmly states) And, like the team, I have to put fresh ice on my ankle to prepare...

Dude, you are about to witness a Premiership.

Only thing tomorrow will bring is the colors of the runner up.

This team is SERIOUSLY good.

Sending ❤️❤️❤️to everyone back in Melbourne, so fortunate to be there tonight and what did I see absolute ruthless hungry demons side . Work dragged call day, was nervous wreck all day. Went into overload just before halftime when they kicked two, had a couple of frothies with the brother at halftime who said You’ve got this your boys are hunting in packs and 2 goals away from putting Geelong away. I was still pessimistic but my lord they are a good side

Some of us have only known pessimism until this year.

You've just had a sneak peak at the 2021 Premier.

I suspect we are about to become the second side of the city of Perth. What a time to be alive.

Best. Win. Ever. I have not experienced anything like that before. Amazing.

Whoever we play next week will have to play unbelievable footy to beat us.

Footscray play Port with that in the back of their mind

No Eagles or Dockers fan would ever claim the other as their second side.

Its always another team.

Well said, @Jaded. I can also feel the nagging hurt under the exuberant joy.

It's not hollow - it's full. Full of pride and appreciation for the players and the fans that could get there, for the Perth community that obviously chose the world of men and righteousness over the Orc and goblins of Mordor.

I am sad for myself and my dad and for you, and Nasher and Andy and 55 and Redleg and WJ and those of us that have spent draining years, talking amongst each other when the club was irrelevant and nowhere.

Now it's everywhere and at the height of its relevance where our spectators are incapable of even enjoying it together in person - let alone at the ground.

But we get to see the Demons run around in our jumper in the last Saturday in September and it is something to cherish.

And we will be doing that together...

Scrolling in bed with the wife asleep, you and Jaded have moved me to some silent tears here rpfc. Very well said. Nagging hurt is the perfect description.

I've nothing to add other than what I said to my 65 year supporting dad on the post game video call...who's to say that this would have happened if this was played at the G? If there had been crowds all year?

Its happened the way it's happened and couldn't have happened any other way.

We're lucky to have something bringing us so much joy and we're lucky to have this forum of kindred spirits.

Reading this thread and hearing of the happiness, the joy, the disbelief, the emotion - it's almost been as good as watching the game!

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
