Jaded No More 68,976 Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 I give 0 [censored] about this award. I’m just confused how the umpires can get it so wrong. You can give 2 out of 3 votes to players who played for a team that got comprehensively beaten by 41 points. It just doesn’t make sense. Yet Touk Miller clear BOG in an 11 point loss to the Dogs not one vote. Umpires are lazy. May didn’t poll a single vote (?), Lever with 5. Arguably our most influential players. Lever with the most intercept marks ever taken in the history of the game. Salem was superb in the first half of the season. One vote. Walsh with so many votes in a losing team. It’s a popularity contest. 10 3 Quote

I heard a port player say the players that got invited chose to take some of there teammates over for a bit of a holiday for them. Well I'm pretty sure that's right Quote

It beggars belief that the most prestigious award in the game is voted on by semi professionals. 4 Quote
RalphiusMaximus 6,112 Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 96 votes for the team. Not a bad tally. Quote

Umpires don’t know anything about the game beyond the rules. And even that’s questionable. Edit: Tmac polling more votes than Lever, May and Salem combined tells you everything you need to know. It’s a popularity contest. I don’t recall Ed Langdon or Angus Brayshaw’s names being called out much either, if at all. They are fundamental to our games. Langdon, in particular, should catch the eye. The problem is that the way the game is played these days, the Brownlow is made for midfielders and bad luck if you’re a defender. 6 1 Quote

Thehardtackler 785 Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 Stupid award. Steven May 1 vote. 😂 Wines did not have his best year and did not deserve it. I think Clayton will win it sometime in the next few years. Hopefully that Marcellin chump Bont never does! 1 1 Quote
dees189227 12,515 Posted September 19, 2021 Posted September 19, 2021 On another note I just flicked over to fox footy & they replayed the 2018 gf. Ha the last 2 minutes was great. I don't know what was better, Ed being disappointed or bucks having his head in his hands after the siren. Anyway now the Brownlow is over it means the big one is next & the nerves are going to start to kick in for us supporters 1 Quote
