I wish Id followed my own advice pointed out the dogs were at three dollars twenty for some strange reason

The ball hits the ground and there are 4 Dogs to 2 Port. Port's lack of intensity is appalling.

And simply not handling any pressure. So much fumbling

Dogs are +26 in contested possessions and +9 in clearances.

Hard to beat them with that level of midfield dominance.

We will beat them

Just imagine if the umpires hadn't gotten the Dogs home last week with all that BS umpiring. We'd be playing Port or Brisbane in the GF.

Still makes me angry.

Wow so many similarities to last night. Port are slow, second to the ball and the Dogs are taking their chances! Geelong and Port were not PF teams and both teams were basically witches hats! We have beaten the doggies twice this year too and with no injuries on our end we have to stay positive and trust this new Melbourne team in the Granny! Go Dees!

Well this is a disaster.

Agreed. We should’ve just lost to the Cats last night to put our minds at ease.

I thought he still played for Essendon.

He is tonight

Is there a worse coach in the AFL than Ken Hinkley?
Tactically he is awful.

I might have a look at the Big Footy/Port forum.

I'm sure they'll be blaming the coach.

Of course - as the players left at half time, were the Port fans booing Dogs, their own players or coach?

In fairness, they are getting them vs Port not us.

PS - and they aren't even needing to throw (much)

If l recall, last time we played Dogs we kicked innacurately & got within 4 points of them in the last before they kicked away. We can beat Dogs in 2 weeks just gotta take our chances.

Dogs on a wide ground scare me but if May gets up i think we have their forwards covered.

As much as Gawn won't play a game again like last night, Mitch won't play another like tonight.

We really need to show up at the contest though. Everything is built from it, the Dogs have A grade mids on their wings and bench.

Take courage from 2018, Eagles and Pies smacked their opponents before playing one of the best Grand Finals you will ever see.

The two best teams will play off.

We wouldnt want to sneak by any team.

This will be a good GF.

I don’t think i have ever seen a team play so badly in a Home Preliminary Final

This could cost Hinkley his job if it continues in the second half

We know how they will play on Lever at least.
Who takes Naughton? Gonna have to be Smith - nobody can match his athleticism.

Doggies are still vulnerable down back so we will need a huge effort in the midfield but I think our brand is better suited to finals. Port is just flattering them tonight.

Their mids dominated also, I’d think ours would give a better showing this time round.

Sets up a ripper of a GF

Who cares about a good grand final? I want a boring thrashing from Melbourne

I don't think my heart would survive a West Coast/Collingwood-esque Grand Final!!!

Port HAVE to come out and crack some heads. Lycett and Dixon should have free reign to jump on the Bont’s knees

Port have had the extra week off, no quarantine, sleeping in their own beds and no injuries and at home! They will never live this down unless they come out breathing fire.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
