PF: Port Adelaide vs Bulldogs

Featured Replies

Dogs are +28 in contested possessions and +10 in clearances.

We have to back ourselves in to not be as pathetic as Port in those areas. We know that if you take that part of the game away from the Dogs, they are a very different side. But if you let them dominate those areas, they are arguably unbeatable.

To beat the dogs you need pressure, port simply not up for the fight and haven’t been all year

A Port supporter mate of mine has been saying all year that they are garbage. Even when they were on top. He hates Hinkley and that seems to be a common sentiment over there. I knew they weren't that good but a number of times they have looked very good. Other times they look tactically lacking. This might be controversial but they are a lot like what Melbourne was under Daniher. Good, never great. And always crumble whenever the pressure is on.

The ball hits the ground and there are 4 Dogs to 2 Port. Port's lack of intensity is appalling.

Motlop and Fantasia. 😩 They may as well have a couple of the Wiggles down there

You just can't have asked for a better crack at it the last two years, though.

Top 2 both years, win the QF both years, home prelim both years with opponents who have been all over Australia in the weeks prior. And this year, no injuries at all. They have their entire full list to choose from tonight I believe, except maybe Georgiades.

Thinking of the positives, a big win for the doggies will see them go in as favorites for the granny. will take some of the focus and pressure off us

Gawn and Jackson would destroy Lycett.

They'll destroy Martin and English, too.

But we've lost games this year despite dominating the ruck.

Gawn and Jackson are part of the broader picture - midfield dominance. We won't beat the Dogs without it.

Hannan is playing like Wayne flaming’ Carey!

Port just aren’t running or chasing

their young kids are choking on the big stage

their leaders have to cop a lot of the brunt for this horrible performance

Hannan having a killer game

He is hopefully he has one of those 4-6 possession games in the GF that were 2 out of 3 when he was a demon

Let's be real, neither we nor the Bulldogs have played a quality opponent in our prelims. It makes picking a likely winner in the GF very difficult.

No semblance of a system.

I didn't even know Fantasia was playing. Lol.

I thought he still played for Essendon.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
