I can’t express how jealous I am of you. That would have been off the charts crazy.

Flew to LA 2007 as I ran a small snowboarding company and was going to make some boards at the LA factory. Rock the Bells was also on - Rage, Wu Tang, cypress hill, murs, brother Ali, nas, roots and more. this was Rage’s big comeback.

I managed to finagle a media pass and was shooting photos between mosh pit and stage. During Wu Tang couches started getting set on fire and the po po deployed pepper spray. All the while everyone was doing the Wu symbol.

it was a crazy crazy crazy night

got some ripping photos too from right in front of stage including a cracker of morello.

Not the same of course…

I’d rather this thread be opened if we get through to the GF.

However, if the theme is general ‘fire up’ music, nothing beats Sirius.

The ultimate song to get things going. In Chicago Bulls fashion we actually played this as our run out song 2 years ago at the 'G.

So at the risk of being barred.....I truely believe we are......

Damn you're good!

Getting pumped now, a bit of Hatebreed with some Parkway and have just stumbled across Wage War (wow firing off).

To give me a bit of missing the old man, going to the footy together feels Paul Kelly ‘Leaps and Bounds’.

Good one, but I prefer I Robot.

What does it say about our society when there is a Highway To Hell but only a Stairway To Heaven?

Speaking of Led Zeppelin, it takes me to "Rock And Roll”. It certainly has been a long time.

It's been a long time since I rock-and-rolled

It's been a long time since I did the Stroll

Umps, let me get it back, let me get it back, let me get it back

mm-baby, where I come from

It's been a long time, been a long time

Been a long lonely, lonely, lonely, Flag and Covid time

Tonight's playlist:  Ron Sexsmith -> Ash -> Sufjan Stevens -> Toots & The Maytals.

And here I was thinking I couldn’t possibly hold you in any higher esteem.

I love this! Very apt. ❤️💙

The last week I've been listening to some hip hop/rap

Necro and Ill Bill, Kendrick Lamar, Run the Jewels

As well as some old school Tool, Rage Against The Machine, Electric Wizard, Sabbath, Doors and Led Zep

I think we can relate to the message in this tune given our irrelevance for the last 57 years (and brought to you with huge dollops of glam, cheese and 80's perms)

I can't listen to that song without seeing Dave Chappelle's impression of his white friend, "Chip"

I worked with Wu Tang and The Beastie Boys when I lived in the US. I shot a project with Wu Tang, and it was the first time they’d all been together since ODB’s funeral. So many crazy people in one room, and more baby mama’s than I’d ever seen. Good times. 🤣

Fair dinkum, think you just won the best name drop ever... Had 50 Cent come through Nairobi, but his crew were all pajeros of the 1st order.

FMD I melted down trying to answer this one, I am as just likely to listen to Stephen Sondheim, then park the bus on Joy Division or Pixies or straight to Dead Kennedys or RATM. So I have loosely grouped the music I would listen to on the way to a game or when I want to fire up etc.

BTW, just quietly, a bit impressed by some of the name checked bands - never thought my fellow D'landers would have Kendrick Lamar, next thing I know people will be quoting Ghostface Killah. I skipped the obvious anthems - AC/DC, H&C not because I don't like them (I love 'em, but everyone owns them too an extent). Would have thought some of the ladies would name check Prodigy, didn't know any women who weren't mad for these guys.

Introspective  / On our history

I'm on Fire - Bruce Springsteen

Hurt - Johnny Cash

Dog Days Are Over - Florence and the Machine - good for when we salute as well i guess.

War Cry / Fire Up

Right Here, Right Now - Fatboy Slim

Call of the Wild - Agoria

anything by RATM but leaning on Take the Power back

Digital - Joy Division

For the Celebration

Can't Hold Us - Macklemore, my son and I would dance like lunatics around the house to this

Beautiful Day - U2 and about 50 of their other songs.

Gang of Youths Magnolia. (Yeah, I'm drunk but I'm ready to kick some f**cat [censored]). Also, their latest release includes a cover of the Elbow song ‘asleep in the back’, so I’ve been listening to Elbow- how did it take so long for me to find them? Build a rocket boys.

The National - Vanderlyle Crybaby Geeks, just because it’s been my obsession recently. Not really relevant to our current situation, hopefully a lot of those lines remain so after Friday night.

Edited by napster

This should sum up my week.

Monday: Neurosis - Fear and Sickness

Tuesday: Tool - Invincible

Wednesday: Led Zeppelin- Sick Again

Thursday: NIN - Help Me I Am In Hell

Friday: Run the Jewels - Blockbuster Night pt.1

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
