The only thing standing in Port supporters way is the $1200 (currently) airplane tickets plus.

Have the GFG but flights from Hobart to Perth are currently $1600 return.

(!) I bought mine for a $108 each way from Cairns with Jetstar a couple of days ago - which I'm assuming is the longest domestic leg in Australia. Looks like I might struggle to get a gf ticket now though - but definitely don't cry for me, just making a point about airline extortion. Maybe Adelaide/Hobart to Cairns to Perth would be a cheaper option, however insane that sounds. Anyways, happy to discuss putting anyone up on the way through if that's the case. Go Dees!

Just in case anyone sees this post and takes it as gospel - A few mates have passed on you CAN call up and buy a membership with a GFG until 5pm today. Must have been revised given COVID and the chance to make up a little money lost during the year.

Had a look and can fly Hobart-Cairns-Perth-Cairns-Hobart for around $1000, with some accommodation on top of that. Still keen to go.

EDIT: actually that would require quarantine unless the Qld status changes to very low risk.

Just found Qantas direct Hobart to Perth return for just over $850. Not booking yet as do not want to tempt fate.

So if i head to S.A. from Vic now and settle in to a motel ....can i apply from there to W.A. if we win next week?

I doubt you'd able to get into SA unless you have an exceptional reason.

The cases are getting out of control in VIC.

No state in Australia will have Victorians at the moment without an exemption, and no state is giving our exemptions for desperate footy fans. So unless you can swing a work or compassionate exemption, good bloody luck to you!

Maybe they’ve calculated roughly how many may need to be refunded to members who are are not allowed to enter WA, and are now selling a few in an effort to recoup their anticipated losses.

I tried today but they said they weren’t selling them. They said as a priority 2 I’ll have a very good chance of getting a ticket but who knows. I’m in the NT so no travel restrictions, just need to win the prelim!

I understand if you spend 14 days in SA and wish to go to WA you must apply to WA three days before for entry date. But getting into SA is the catch. Victorian's are basically refused entry now but other states eg Qld  are ok for straight forward entry by permit to SA. And flights back from WA toQld are open as well.

Check each states Covid travel restrictions and entry and permit plus QR code arrangements prior to applying so you understand each states arrangements.
I have found contacting and speaking face to face over the phone is easiest and you can double check with any questions. Ringing in non  peak times is advised to save waiting times.

I have also checked my Grand Final Guarantee which is a No1 priority and is guaranteed. Category Priorities Nos  2,3 and 4 may be subject to a ballot. If in doubt call our Membership Department  who don't have a lot of info but have advised twice of info in this paragraph. Just also check that they have you marked which Category. You are then advised of your opportunity to purchase your ticket if you are eligible.

I’m in NNSW so unable to go unless QLD relaxes their border bubble in the next 2 weeks and somehow that gets me into WA.

Assuming I can’t, my GFG ticket will be available. It’s either that or get a refund on GFG. Rather a Dees fan goes

Apparently on sunrise this morning they said people from WA are buying Melbourne memberships with a guaranteed GF ticket. I upgraded my interstate membership to a GFG and had no issues. The lady on the phone said a lot of people were doing it.
That’s great for the club. Hopefully we can make some money back from some of the lost home games earlier in the year.

Hopefully it will inspire an inkling of temporary loyalty for the grand final, should we make it. Any mention if WA residents are buying up other team's memberships in the same manner?

The 2021 Access Membership package, is this considered a priority 2 level membership?

The whole memberhship site is awful for information. The contact US page literally link back to itself.

Ring the MFC Membership Ph no and ask. During Office hours. You may have to wait a bit or sometimes it's quite quick.

Good luck

PS It might pay to read my previous post earlier on this page 4. Before you ring.

As both an MCC and an MFC premium member ….. (why you ask ?.. good point! To ABSOLUTELY make sure I get a seat on THE day) … I’ll be happy if we are in it and delighted when we win!!!
The Couch will do just fine for this one!

Do it Clint!

please help me fellow Landers.

I am a premium MFC member.

I am a full MCC member.

I am in Perth!

MCC is going to announce its reciprocal arrangement, if any, with  the AFL and Perth Stadium - but we don't know when the announcement will be made, for the Prelim and GF.

Do I buy my Prelim ticket this Monday on my MFC ticket or wait for the MCC arrangement (both will cost $s to buy a seat but I don't know if the MCC will be seated near the MFC members - I want to be in Demon Hell-land - suppose I've answered my own Q!)

But anyone know when MCC will make announcement?

thanks

Go Dees

Apply for a work related exemption if you can swing it.

The website/s are really, really poorly designed. Not sure if us or Ticketmaster but it’s poor

Vics NSW and ACT are not likely to get SA access unless it's very "essential " but other states are treated fine generally.

  • REPORT: Port Adelaide

Of course, it’s not the backline, you might argue and you would probably be right. It’s the boot studder (do they still have them?), the midfield, the recruiting staff, the forward line, the kicking coach, the Board, the interchange bench, the supporters, the folk at Casey, the head coach and the club psychologist  It’s all of them and all of us for having expectations that were sufficiently high to have believed three weeks ago that a restoration of the Melbourne team to a position where we might still be in contention for a finals berth when the time for the midseason bye arrived. Now let’s look at what happened over the period of time since Melbourne overwhelmed the Sydney Swans at the MCG in late May when it kicked 8.2 to 5.3 in the final quarter (and that was after scoring 3.8 to two straight goals in the second term).

  • CASEY: Essendon

Casey’s unbeaten run was extended for at least another fortnight after the Demons overran a persistent Essendon line up by 29 points at ETU Stadium in Port Melbourne last night. After conceding the first goal of the evening, Casey went on a scoring spree from about ten minutes in, with five unanswered majors with its fleet of midsized runners headed by the much improved Paddy Cross who kicked two in quick succession and livewire Ricky Mentha who also kicked an early goal. Leading the charge was recruit of the year, Riley Bonner while Bailey Laurie continued his impressive vein of form. With Tom Campbell missing from the lineup, Will Verrall stepped up to the plate demonstrating his improvement under the veteran ruckman’s tutelage. The Demons were looking comfortable for much of the second quarter and held a 25-point lead until the Bombers struck back with two goals in the shadows of half time. On the other side of the main break their revival continued with first three goals of the half. Harry Sharp, who had been quiet scrambled in the Demons’ first score of the third term to bring the margin back to a single point at the 17 minute mark and the game became an arm-wrestle for the remainder of the quarter and into the final moments of the last.
