looks like the outsourced the design to a 9 year old

Gonna let that slide and the first shot at a rivalry with a new team ;) Did you honestly think that the jumper would be anything different?

I just signed up as a foundation member for the 6 members of my family. The order number was approximately #13700 I think. Most of the people on the AFL facebook site that supports the team and stadium are buying between 2-4 memberships.  Its possible that there are 25k-30k foundation members signed up for this team inside of 35 minutes. Sure it's not a full membership for games etc, but if it says anything about a team and stadium and interest in a Tasmanian team.

Edit: as of 8pm, the foundation member order numbers are over 19k. Given each have multiple memberships, there is a chance of 40k - 50k members signing up tonight.

Is there a clash/away variant of the jumper?

yep, they haven't announced them but not sure how many teams the green will clash with, it's more a dark and light strip I suspect.

It would clash with our navy jumper at night. Would need either a red on green variation or a light green variation.

Could be mainly yellow with red and green, or white with the other 3 colors, thinking of the Jackjumpers, and thats how they have gone.

I agree the green would clash with MFC, Carlton and possibly a few others

If I was picking the colour of a football jumper, the last colour I would pick is......green.

Why? It matches the grass .

I would pick the colour(s) that make it easiest to spot a teammate...not the hardest.Did they consult an optometrist ?

Maybe fluro.? Maybe a bridge too far .

and why do you think it was named a devil?

hint: not because it was cute and cuddly

Makes no difference.  There are two devils.  The religious one and the animal one.  Tasmania has chosen the animal.  This will be my final comment.

Please oh Please let the marketers get ahead of the game and have the Dees and Devils play during Dark Mofo every year.

Red lighting around the ground, fire 🔥, make it absolute spectacle

Would be EPIC

They’ve just cracked 50,000 members within 3 hours of being announced! Their stated goal was 40,000 by October.

A proper football state finally getting their own team. So much better for the competition than soulless franchises like GWS and GC. I wish them well.

I'm all for Tasmania having a team .Good numbers but they are $10 memberships.

I think they will be a great addition to the comp and probably be about of peoples "2nd" team. That jumper though is seriously rubbish . Giants showed how you can create a modern jumper that will hold up for decades to come. Logo looks good

I would have liked a full rebrand and kept that jumper and name for state football history but if this is what they think will work then go for it.

exactly

i don't mind the logo personally, nor the name particularly (although the lack of n is just odd)

but the state jumper? should've been a no-no

60k as of 45 min ago.

I’m hearing that the jumper is a foundation jumper, so those who don’t like the designs ,it might change.

Agree they are not actual memberships, but it’s indicative of the support this team will have.

Btw GWS and GC will get the rub of the green this season, both already 2-0. The AFL must be salivating at the idea of their 2 experimental clubs to be contenders in September.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
