Although it may helps us sneak in a higher ladder position, I just can't cheer on the bombers over the dogs. Along with the cats they remain my most hated team.

I'll stick to hoping the Cats keep losing and play the dogs in the first final and we get a gig vs the Power.

What's better, playing Port in qualifying final or in Prelim? We may better off playing Cats first week then hoping we get Port in the Prelims. Wouldn't want to see the Swans though.

The Sydney win is enormous for us.

We only need to win one more game for the season to ensure we finish top 4.

I'd dearly love for it to be tomorrow, so that we don't have to take that pressure into next week vs Adelaide, a game with "danger" written all over it (albeit I reckon Adelaide spent their last emotional tickets on the Showdown last night).

Not sure I can barrack for Essendon today. For one, a loss pretty much rules them out of finals, but a win puts them in pole position. For another, a loss to the Dogs opens the door to Port finishing top 2, which could mean our first final is on the road.

Come finals time when umpires somehow all of a sudden get better, the Dogs will be whinging about why the rub of the green isn’t so one-sided.

Hope so

I didnt factor that permutation in. Doh.

My preference would be Essendon be kept alive to the very last minute, then get snuffed out in round 23 and finish 9th, with a West Coast side who clearly don’t give a s*** whether they make it or not pinching 8th.

Bummers can start by winning today.

i like your thinking

but i'd reserve 9th for richmond

i'd like to see richmond and the bummers and someone else,  tie for 8th spot but both miss out by %,  preferably by less than a kick's worth

Yeah, but it would be against Port Adelaide, who we beat comfortably on the road less than a month ago.

If Bontempelli got injured, I reckon the Dogs would win half the games they do.

Nah, just means the umpires have to work a little harder. 😁

Excuse my ignorance but there is some crowd at the Dockers match. What’s happening at our game? I just assumed no crowd

I thought so too. Although I don’t see why they’d have no crowds when they have no cases and no restrictions.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

It's Game Day and the Demons are once again faced with a classic 8 point game against a traditional rival on King's Birthday at the MCG. A famous victory will see them reclaim a place in the Top 8 whereas a loss will be another blow for their finals credentials.

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    PREGAME: Rd 13 vs Collingwood

The Demons head back to Melbourne after an embarrassing loss to the Dockers to take on the Magpies at the MCG on Kings Birthday. With a calf injury to Lachie Hunter and Jacob van Rooyen possibly returning from injury who comes in and who goes out?
