Gawn - intimidated by Mumford

Viney - was a liability

Harmes - fumbled and slow

Oliver - season worst game

Petracca - prolific without effect

McDonald - our best tall

May - tight as ever

Hibberd - always under pressure

Salem - continued superlative form

Petty - never imbued confidence

Hunt - not Usain Bolt

Langdon - couldn’t get involved

Jackson - couldn’t impose himself

Pickett - hit the wall

Spargo - schoolboy footballer again

Neal-Bullen - did nothing regularly

Sparrow - overawed and overwhelmed

Fritsch - only some cameos

Lever - easily our best

Brayshaw - loose and unaccountable

Jordan - had little involvement

Rivers - was rarely sighted

Gawn was not intimidated by Mumford. He was illegally getting smashed by Mumford while 3 umpires stood by and watched. He has every right to demand half the protection the likes of Selwood and Bont get. He’s as good a player!

Agree. Maxy was not intimidated.  I watched the whole game and Maxy did whatever he could to lift us.  It was not his fault we lost today at all.

thought harmes tried very hard and played an usual role at half forward had no support and got bagged by his own players when he tried to barrell a goal when the rest of them where just plodding around

After reading the '2 minutes hate' version of the 3 word review, I now officially forgive Joeboy for all those time he labelled Tyson 'prolific but wasteful' (even that one time when he was injured).?

Disagreed with Harmes and Max, but mostly on the money.

May and Lever.

A bit generous on Mcdonald. As good as he was,  his goal kicking undid all of his good work imo.

Langdon still got 25 touches too. So I thought he got involved, especially late.

Also Jordon is spelt Jordon

Anyone else notice a fair bit of bagging between our players when shots were sprayed. Player has a shot and others arms go up complaining you didn't kick to me

Yes I did. Harmes seemed to be copping a fair bit of lip from the players walking off at half time. Lever was the only one who offered him some solace at the time from what I saw. Lever had his arm on Harmes back and was explaining something to him. I have notice a bit of a disconnect between some of our players recently. Not sure what is going on.

Unfortunately Oliver is often very demonstrative when he’s not kicked to.. I agree it’s not a good look, particularly coming from someone like him who usually only has eyes for Trac at the expense of a better option

Underperformers receiving the passed buck - to diminish their own poor efforts - through disguised credibility to comment in the first place.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
