Ok so I admit I have watched this a few times because its a great rebound goal and shows how well we can move the ball

BUT

The more I watched the more I started laughing at Joe Daniher and his defensive efforts - just focus on big Joey - really good effort !

Wow, you're not wrong. That's awful stuff.  You'd be disappointed to see that from a young tall forward starved all day in a team being thrashed late in the season, not an alleged gun in top team when the game is on the line against a likely finals opponent.

I know - 10 mins to go, game up for grabs, 7 points down

If I was Fagan I'd be fuming - so glad he doesn't wear a Melbourne jumper - really deflating for his team mates to see that

That is maybe 3 embarrassing efforts in 5 seconds.

Disgraceful for a professional sportsman.

Don't know how we escaped those bone crunching tackles.

Wow, that’s absolutely disgraceful from Daniher. Some of the weakest efforts you could possibly imagine.

Also great goal from TMac, Trac wasn’t is a much better position and Tommy’s in form. Let it ride!

Each of the 3 efforts are more half arsed than the one before.

Zorko’s efforts when Tom Sparrow kicked his goal was awful too but at least Zorko had been running all night.

I watched the second half yesterday and remembered Georges comments on the podcast about zorko's non effort. Woeful. Gifted the goal.

Sure, it's the end of the game but he is the captain. Really bad look

Yes, surprised the Zorko effort hadn't been mentioned earlier.

I watched the replay 20 times and thought it must have been the viewing angle that made him look closer than he was. For a youngster like Sparrow to have time to drop the ball cold, wait for a teammate to hand it back to him before taking his time to slot the goal was surprising.

Playing devil's advocate here . . . poor Daniher looked a tad tired and aha-ahaha long live Darren Burgess. Though I sometimes wish Tomald or Gawn would put in those types of efforts at the contest and not gain possession. Maybe it's instructed?

Nah, the pimply doofus is just a spud defensively.

Saying otherwise would make me realise how much we will miss Burgess next year and that makes faulty sad......

I quite like that doofus, similar to my fondness for Fitzy and Frost.

Faulty along with the rest of the supporters should put his/their efforts into keeping Burgo at the club, at almost any cost.

I would support him working for almost the same remuneration for a few months over the pre-season with FIFO top-ups during the year, just to ensure he was ours and didn't defect to the Crows. We're already paying that cash.

That's how important I think he is. It's so satisfying heading into last quarters knowing we will at least have the legs. On top of that, Burgess is a truly inspiring figure, like having a second coach.

If you think we're being critical, try talking to Essendon supporters about him. They are enraged by his defection and actively wish that he be badly injured!

No doubt Joe has talent, but OMG he can be such an absolute buffoon.

I remember when he played for Essendon vs Melbourne April or May 2017 - we had an unexpected win and he kicked a huge bag of behinds and just carried on like a demented clown.

After that whenever there were calls for us to trade him in I thought, never forget that day.  And there have been others too.

Did it on the opposite wing too. Not to mention Petty looking like Usain Bolt in a race to the ball with him.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
