Watching the swans/ blues game. How refreshing it is to hear Jason Bennett calling. So much better than BT. He just calls it with no crap or nonsense.

What a cracking Mark from Jack R with the game on the line!

I don’t hate Carlton. There, I’ve said it! Moreover, I like Patrick Cripps. And I love Eddie Betts. But then, who doesn’t?!

Agree. Hopefully they replace Brayshaw soon as well.

Swans have turned on the jets ... up to 7 wins, 6th spot and a bit of separation if they go on and win this

Swans v Blues is a good contest but no one really taking to the game on to surge forward. Enter Isaac Heeney. Love this bloke as a footballer. Would have him at the Dees in a heartbeat.

Would have to drop Melksham, so would be a waste of list & cap space

I love Jason Bennett and Nigel Carmody in commentary. Idk why they can’t be used on Fri and Sat nights.

How much can I chip in to guarantee this?

Waiting for the teams on 8 wins to start having some hard games. They all seem to be getting soft matches every week.
At least we have Port v Geelong after the bye.

If Port Adelaide were switched on they could create a 'prison bars' version of their indigenous jersey to wear during the two weeks that cover the Sir Doug Nicholls rounds to get around the rules.

I like both of those players too but I still [censored] hate Carlton.

Nice deviosity, RD

There’s actually not one current Carlton player that I can honestly say I hate.
Brendan Fevola used up a lifetime of hate-credit imo.

Came on here to say 'credit where credit is due', to find you'd got in first, DD. Rather has it all, I'm bound to concede - back-with-the-flight courage, air, angularity, and capped by a clutch goal.

Cummon, Kozzie, you know what you've got to beat!

They'd probably get away with an actual prison bars guernsey for the rest of the season too if they'd only add a touch of teal to the design. Personally I'd add a horizontal teal stripe just above the white one at the top of the bars.

Very nearly didn’t happen due to Chol. ?

Yes fair point probably not that many current players at Carlton I hate either. But there are plenty of past players, administrators and about 70,000 incredibly arrogant members that just make me hate that club. Second only behind Essendon for me.

Well, we agree on Essendon being hands down the most hate-able of them all. ?

I don’t really detest any clubs these days. But it does go MFC first and everyone else second (Which may as well be last)

Port wouldn’t allow Suns to wear Red and Gold  ?? in China games.
Port calling kettle black.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.

  • POSTGAME: North Melbourne

The Demons are finally back at the MCG and finally back on the winners list as they continually chipped away at a spirited Kangaroos side eventually breaking their backs and opening the floodgates to run out winners by 6 goals.
