Word is....

Teams playing interstate instructed to head out today ahead of a pending lock down announcement.

No crowds at any Vic matches

I've been saying this all year. Why have reduced crowds only to pack everyone in together.

Went to Collingwood V Port last Sunday and the bottom level of the AFL members was pretty much full capacity, barely a spare seat.

And yet the top level was closed off.

I just don't get it. Prioritising reduced costs over potential health and COVID risks.

There was a positive case at the Collingwood vs Port game.

There are always inherent health risks when going to a pies game.

Roof open, cant see that happening.  Might be rain and that surface hasn't seen rain since.... never?

This means absolutely nothing if it can take up to two weeks for symptoms to show. That’s if you’re buying into it to begin with....

Flew to QLD on Friday May 7th, there were two new cases in Sydney that week. A man who tested positive on the Wednesday and his wife testing positive on the Thursday. Upon arrival in Brisbane all passengers were greeted by members of QLD police and QLD health. I was simply asked how I was and if I had visited a hot stop, I replied I’m fine and no and was ushered past QLD health.

NO TEMPERATURE CHECK

NO LICENSE CHECK

What if I was lying....Sadly incompetence runs this county. So many mistakes already made and no lessons learnt.

Better beat the dogs this week and claim top spot before they all sheet themselves and call off the season.

You sound surprised BBP. Money wins every time.

I had a similar experience returning  from QLD when the breakout happened up there pre Easter. Arrived in melb to the poorest checking I could imagine.

It’s disappointing to say the least.

Our public service at work. But I guess it is hard to be at the airport when you working from home.

You obviously aren't really across what is happening in Health at the moment.

It’s not surprising how we constantly find ourselves with outbreaks larger than any other state

Honestly , how can you trust the people in charge when they name an incorrect exposure site and inform you of their bungle 3 weeks later?

Will be very surprised if there are crowds allowed on the weekend...despite what his being said.

It will take a lot of luck to get out of this one.

It has a chilling similarity to Taiwan ( two air crew eating out) and then moving through the community. Cases which were previously zero now 300 plus a day. Singapore with 30-40 per day after being close to zero. Elimination is almost impossible.

If you can get the jab asap. Got my AZ 3 weeks ago and no problems

Most would, except the rollout has been slow unless you are in the vulnerable category.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.

The Demons lacked some polish but showed a lot of heart and took it right up to the Bulldogs in an attempt to spoil their finals hopes ultimately going down by a goal at the MCG.
